They had a few stumbles during some of the elements (and their choreographic slide wasn't called (too short? Or Dasha lost balance? Not quite sure), so they lost a full element), but tbh I felt like they were scored pretty harshly in comparison to the scoring of the teams before them.

Either way, I hope they can take this competition and turn it into a positive learning lesson, maybe tweak some things, and show their best skating in two weeks at the JGPF.

Interesting to see that all the deductions that the Top 2 were given were for extended lifts. 1 point deducted for KARL / HOFERICHTER (DEU) in 1st; and 2 points deducted for TALI / FRASCA (ITA) in 2nd.

They got away with it this time, because of GRIMM / SAVITSKIY (DEU) dropping to third. But, they will have to be careful in future.

You can't afford to be giving away points unnecessarily.

Now that's appropriate, starting with an "Evita" programme from Eleanor and Anthony.

I watched "Evita" for the first time on Monday! And "A New Argentina" was probably my favourite song in it.

Awwww. Eleanor has got a sloth!

It's not as big as SuperSimone, though, who we will be seeing in Turkey in a few days time.

I must say, I'm confused. Based on the technical handbook, if the choreographic sliding movement is not identified as an element (for example under 2s duration), a deduction for a fall (for each partner) must be applied, which was not done here...

I don't like having choreographic slides allowed, because it means things are open to interpretation. It was much better when it was simple - if you touch the ice, then you get penalised.

I love "Music" by John Miles. But, I don't love the editing towards the end of the programme. It was a real hatchet job!

I think somebody else is skating to the same song this season, and their edit is a lot better. Either that, or these two have had their music re-worked since the last time I saw them, and doing so has messed it all up!

Nevertheless, Anna and Kirill go into a big lead in both the FS and overall.

A very solid Senior debut for Simova/Aksenov.

What a programme!

It only got them 3rd in the FD, though. But, thanks to the advantage from the SD, they just about hang onto the lead overall.

Simova / Aksenov still leading the FS, but are 3rd overall.

Maria and Georgy are still going to win this comfortably.

And boys but they do! A 14.54 point lead in the FD, and a 26.74 lead overall!

I feel really sorry for Anna SIMOVA / Kirill AKSENOV (SVK). 2nd in the FD, but they miss out on the overall podium by just 0.54 points!



And the podium ceremonies for both Ice Dance levels is about to start.

We just had a brief shot of the podium finishers having a group photo taken.

@NoNameFace - I know "Beatrice" is only a name that you were given on here, but you're in good company!

She didn't look very happy on the podium, though. I think dropping down to 3rd from the overnight lead hurt.

Ice Dancing is finished. But we stay at Senior level to complete the Singles categories. First up, it's the girls. But, I am going to bail out during Group 1, as it will be time for Sunday Dinner.

Well done Maia, despite the music stop and the new start

Mmmm. The music stopped unexpectedly in the middle of the Maia SØRENSEN's programme. It re-started a few seconds later, and Maia carried on skating her programme throughout all this. But then she must have been told to stop.

After a long pause, the announcer explained that the music would be played from the start, and Maia would resume skating her programme from after the Flying Sit Spin.

It was a beautiful programme. Such a pity that it got interrupted,

She seemed to cope alright with it.

And that is reflected in the scores - a lead of exactly 21 points in the FS; and exactly 23.5 points overall!
