Discipline I'm most excited about: Pairs followed by ladies.
Discipline I'm most nervous about: Men for sure (Please Ilia, all I want is a podium finish).
Discipline I'm the most "Oh, cool cool cool" about: Dance. I like dance, but it's mostly predictable.

I am so pleased for my neighbouring country Belgium. Two women in the Final. What a wonderful achievement.
Looking forward mostly to pairs and men (always my favourites).
Dance is going to be exciting (even if it's the most predictable) with three Canadian couples, one from the US, one from Italy and one from the UK. Interesting!

To me it looks like all categories this year are really open. I'm having such a hard time predicting this. There are four realistic contenders for the win in men's (my favourite discipline), Kaori, despite being the favourite, can potentially be beaten by pretty much everyone else on the days, similar goes for pairs, and even ice dance looks like it has four teams that can actually win. 😮

Kévin will likely be last, but I just hope for a good showing from him and that he's having fun!
Due to their programs this season my love has shifted a bit from Kaori to Yoshida... would be great if she could land her 3A cleanly.

This is what they wrote (found it via Anything Goes social media):

We are extremely sad that we have to withdraw from the GP Final. We have been super excited to go but with Robert having immense Pain there was no other option than to withdraw.
We are working hard on finding a solution to get back to full practice as quick and most importantly as healthy as possible.
Even tho this was a hard one to take we are ready to work our way back and be ready for the second half of the season💪🏻
Thank you to everyone who was so excited for us going to the finals.
We appreciate your ongoing support a ton🫶🏻
Can’t wait to get out there again.

Oh I'm sorry to hear about the Germans withdrawing. They were exciting to watch. I'm really looking forward to the GPF and it's wonderful to have some "new" countries represented. There doesn't seem to be a dominating force (other than maybe the Japanese . I think the Men's competition is going to be incredible. I, too, want to see Ilia on the podium but he has an uphill battle with Adam SHF and the two men from Japan. Not too thrilled about the pairs or the dance but the Women's competition should be pretty interesting. Overall, the talent in this years GPF is outstanding and each and every skater (skaters?) is going to have to skate clean to medal. Can't wait.

I read somewhere that he made it through last season just on painkillers, without extra funding it would be hard to get proper medical treatment.

This "lack of funding" thing really got so blown out of proportion.
And we have general public health insurance that can be very bureaucratic when you want certain extras but basically pays for everything, unless you want some experimental treatment. As a sports soldier his conditions might be even better, not sure he even has so pay for insurance.
