Proud of ya' Jimmy!

Really looking forward to seeing what Brian and Tracy pull out of Jin in the future when he's 100%!! :yahoo:

I am pleasantly surprised by Boyang, not just that he scored well, but that he also looks good. Maybe finally taking the time to move to TCC will work as he wants.

Jimmy also did everything right. Could we be seeing a new, consistent Jimmy.

If this is a skate-off for Worlds for the two Canadian men, I vote for Conrad. He has shown that he can meet the moment more consistently (I hope I don't jinx him). Sadly I just don't see Gogo regaining any kind of consistency.

And shout-out to Darian Kaptich and his presentation skills, as well as his awesome Afro, making a 4CC debut.:dance3:

Jimmy Ma. ❤️ He showed all his skills and talents, and put them all together to make a whole that is larger than its individual parts. He had this fire in his eyes and a grin that lurked throughout, and showed itself in flashes.

It's rare that a figure skater makes me love a piece of music that I've literally abhorred for years, especially in figure skating programs. Koshiro Shimada did exactly that.❤️ :bsplit: From the first few seconds of his program, he gave a lightness and whimsy to that particular version of "Sing Sing Sing." He responded to the music, not the history of the music. Ice Dance particularly has been interpreting it the same for years. I mean, he was just joyful and had so much fun with it. I'm very impressed with him. Great choreography by Jeffrey Buttle. (ETA: I also feel Jeffrey paid attention to the skater in front of him, choreographing for him.)

I never noticed till now that Maxim Naumov's big, expansive arms and skating remind me of Dmitry Aliev ... and that's good, I'm an Aliev fan.:) I really enjoyed his skate, never mind the mistakes. It's interesting how some people's falls or other mistakes make me lose interest in the rest of their skate. But with Maxim, I for one found so much else to like that I forgot about the early errors.

I think we'll have to see how the FS goes, but I'm inclined to agree. Both made errors (Gogolev's spin/time vio were especially costly/silly)... but 2 quads means higher scoring potential for Conrad even though Gogolev brings in higher PCS.

So happy for Jimmy! <3

Nice to see Kao back in form... like Mai last year, this will probably be another 4CC win for Japan where the winner isn't on the World's team. 😬
