2023 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival

The 2023 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival (EYOF) for Figure Skating will take place Jan 26-27, 2023, in Pontebba, Italy, at the Ice arena Claudio Vuerich. The multi-sport event will feature the Singles discipline (Women and Men) in the Junior figure skating category and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2022, the Special Regulations & Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance 2022, and the relevant ISU Communications.

I don't get it. we've got quite a few young women eligible to compete here, but only young speed skaters (short - and long track) are going. Why? I know they are the more popular sports here, but last a young woman did go. Why not now?

Sooo how long are they going to wait before publishing the entries? Norway is already on their way to Italy. You wouldn´t believe it´s next week when you don´t even know who is going to compete.

Just looked at the timetable for the whole EYOF on the website, and the figure skating practices start on Sunday evening.

In theory, this means they should be able to give us a definite entry list by Monday. In practice, who knows!

Whenever it appears, with the Short Programmes being held on Wednesday, it's not giving us a lot of time to make predictions.

Unless there is an "official" list of entries soon, it's not looking good for a skate picks contest. Unless the EYOF site puts up something 48 hours prior to the event.

Even more perplexingly, the draw for the Short Program was supposed to have taken place last week, i.e. not only are the entries already known but so are probably the starting orders.

Figure skating is also unfortunately one of only two sports still without entry lists, the other one being Biathlon.

Update: Per Skate Austria correspondence, Michail Savenkov will not be competing (citizenship issues). Schaller will compete with the other women listed as substitutes.
