Is Nika really that tall? I thought it looked like Morisi, but it's hard to say from behind. Doesn't really matter, because the main thing is there are two Danny G.s in the picture.

Btw, go Nika, my dark horse! :cheer2:
idk, im guessing too lmoa :scratch2:

Im going based on the fact that Nika is still training there full time so its more likely to be him, but back of the head really tells me nothing :rolleye:

edit. ok now that ive zoomed in really close to his side profile its likely Morisi but where is Nika?
Also why not Dudakov? Doesn't he normally go with the boys?

Can someone explain how they decide the groups for Euros? It seems is not using either season ranking or world ranking 😂 Is it a mix of both of them?
I think our local commentators once told this: They distribute the skaters by season rankings into two groups. After it the skating order is drawn in both groups.

Hm... can you explain how that would work in Mia Risa Gomez and Janna Jyrkinens case for example? It´s a big difference in WR and SR for both. Mia is listed as 101 in WR but 33 in SR. According to my reading there It´s only 8 skaters ahead of her that is competing at Euros from that list. Janna Jyrkinen is ranked as 32 at SR and 66 at WR, and she has only 7 skaters ahead of her on the SR list. There are only 30 skaters to start, so that would most likely mean they are going to divide it into 5 groups of six skaters?

So from my understanding both Mia and Janna will be amongst top 15 that would be drawing for the start order in group 3, 4 or 5? Or do I got it all wrong?

Edit: Maybe they will have 6 groups of 5 skaters instead now? Since there have been WD. That would make much more sense.

I can explain only that our commentators mix up things quite a lot and I may remember the what ranking is used wrong. But distributing skaters in groups should be the answer why nr 1 does not always skate first.

I do remember now one television commentator say that Carolina Kostner was skating in the first group at EC or WC because she had been out with injury and hadn´t competed all season. Based on that it seems SR is used but it could also be she was out longer so she was very low on the WR list.

It is by world standings.

From rules:

"B. ISU Championships – Special Technical Rules
Rule 520
Draws for Competitors
1. Applicable for all ISU Championships as from the 2022/23 season, the
draw for the Short Program/Rhythm Dance and if applicable, for the
Qualifying Free Skating/Free Dance will be held according to the latest
World Standings as follows, whereby World Standings will be
established as per the procedure published in an ISU Communication:
a) For the purpose of the draw, the Competitors are listed in
accordance with the latest ISU World Standings at the time of the
Team Leaders Meeting at the respective competition.
b) The Competitors will be divided into starting order groups in
accordance to Table I of the Technical Rules using the total
number of Competitors entered.
c) Within the starting order groups, the Competitors will be divided
into two equal subgroups, in case of an odd number of
Competitors the subgroups with the Competitors drawing for the
higher starting numbers will include one more Skater/Pair/Couple.
d) There will be a free draw among all Competitors of each such
subgroup with the highest ranked Skater/Pair/Couple of the World
Standings drawing first and so on.
e) In case of ties in the World Standings there will be a separate draw
between the tied Competitors to decide the order of the draw. In
case of ties in the World Standings on the border of starting order
groups or the subgroups, all those tied Competitors will be
included in the later group or subgroup and the earlier competing
group or subgroup will be smaller by the number of Competitors
so added to a later group. However, this procedure has no
influence on the size of the warm-up groups for the Short Program
/ Rhythm Dance or Qualifying Free Skating/Free Dance which
strictly follows Table II of the Technical Rules.
f) Skaters/Pairs/Couples, who have not received any ISU World
Standing points will be listed at the bottom of the list in country
order. There will be a separate draw between those
Skaters/Pairs/Couples with no World Standing placements to
determine the starting order, following the basic principles of the
draws.

Really weird rule when you have a situation like this. Deniss is ahead of both of them in WS but he is the one who gets pushed out of the last group

Seriously they should have a draw first between Lukas and Kevin to split between the two last groups, and then have the draw between subgroups afterwards..?!
