Just realised - she won the FS and overall!!! After being 8th in the SP.

She won the FS by a massive 8.20 points, which meant she won overall by 1.73 points. Both over SP winner Irina NAPOLITANO (ITA)

Just popped in to see if there was any chaos between the two sets of brothers.

Nope. They finished in exactly the same order as they finished the SP.

Mind you. FOUR points in deductions for Xan! That sounds pretty chaotic!

And that resurfacing takes us to the last competition of not just the day, but of the ISU part of the event. We stay with the Seniors, but move to the girls.

7 girls, arranged into a group of 3 girls; followed by a group of 4 girls. And funnily enough, in each group all the skaters are Polish apart from the last girl. (Skater #3 is French, while Skater #7 is Italian).

Karolina got her tech minimum. Into first.

Things mightn't have gone well for Alicja Rejment in Juniors, but boys but they did for Agnieszka Rejment in Seniors!

From penultimate position in the SP, she climbed up to 4th in the FS and overall!!!

I was very disappointed with how Agnieszka did in the SP. Apart from runaway winner Marina PIREDDA (ITA), she was the skater who was most familiar to me. So, I had been expecting her to be much higher in the SP. And I was worrying that her not doing so could be an indication that she might be a skater in decline.

But, she more than redeemed herself today! And I am delighted for her.

And that is it for today.

We've an early start, and an early finish, tomorrow for the Amateur competitions. And although I will be concentrating on Abu Dhabi, I will be keeping an eye on what is happening in Łódź.

I should point out that the only Pairs competition of the week is being held tomorrow. There is only one entry, but at least they are there!

Looking through the entry lists, apart from the Poles, there is quite a sizeable Czech contingent entered across pretty much all the competitions.

One of the Czech skaters, Lucie HALMOVA, is entered in quite a few competitions. So, she in particular will be hoping for a fruitful trip to Poland.

It will be interesting to see how she gets on.

It's a group of 5 Ladies (all Polish, 3 of whom are from Łódź)

I just flicked over to the window containing this stream to see if we were ready for the next reminder post yet, and I got a surprise.

These Czech skaters that are competing at Bronze V and Silver V levels - they are elderly women!

Well, fair play to them! To not only be on the ice at their advanced years, but also travelling to different countries to compete!



Awwww. And they all came in for a group photo at the end of the group!

Now I'm wondering if any of them have grandchildren that are following in their footsteps...

Sorry, I was writing a post in the Abu Dhabi thread, and ended up forgetting to post this. The Masters level girl is about to start.

Taking us up to the second resurfacing is another combined group. And this is a real mixture. It contains 2 Gold YA Ladies (both from Warsaw); then 1 Masters Lady (from Warsaw); then 3 Gold II & IV Men (all Polish).

This group marks the first of 2 appearances today by Przemyslaw FAJER (Łódź), who is competing in Gold II & IV Men (I don't know which level, as they have a combined livescoring page).

Phew. I did post the links to the Men's livescoring the right way around. Przemyslaw FAJER is indeed the first to skate.

And I saw during the Warm-Up that the other skater from Łódź that follows him is an elderly gentleman.

Fair play to him too!

He actually looked quite impressive during the Warm-Up!

Right, since Abu Dhabi is on a break at the moment, I think I'll stick around here until the Junior Men's FS starts.

EDIT: Oh no she doesn't! Lucie HALMOVA has withdrawn from this competition. I wonder if it was a mistake that she was entered in both B and C competitions.​
