Among the eligible senior men, I guess Anisimov, Lutfullin, and Popov might still want to compete in Junior Nats, thus kicking out Golubev, Stolyarenko, and Polyanskiy. Timofei Stolyarenko is likely to withdraw in any case, since last time I saw, he had both his arms in plaster.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I'd like to see a raise in the minimum junior age as well as the senior age - 14 for juniors seems about right. I'd rather have Golubev and Polyanskiy competing here than the novices who can go to novice nats.

I have been saying this since the day they proposed the change of age in seniors, to accordingly raise the junior entry age would make sense… but I hope against hope to see Popov in junior Nats 😇

Yes, I meant the flu. Glad to hear Gleb is doing well. But then I don't understand the decision, I think he would have had the best chances of claiming the gold.
I'm also very happy to see Stolyarenko in the training group list. Seems his injury is already healed. After his performances at the stages, he really deserves the spot at nationals.

I'm not sure he needs it. Judging by recent interviews, he really likes the deep field in seniors.

No, he probably doesn't need it. There are no assignments to gain and always the danger of getting beaten by a novice skater if he has a bad day.

Yeah he is having a huge breakout season but both Arseny and Lev have the tech and components to beat him if everyone goes clean, I dont see him benefiting from going toe to toe with them especially as this is his last season as a junior eligible skater anyway. Why risk damaging your reputation by loosing to a novice now when you are going to go head to head with top senior men that will have reputation scoring going for them in the GPF.

While this also explains why Popov isn't here, I still miss Andrei Anisimov. He has no Cup Final to compete in and no reputation to lose, so what is he going to do for the rest of the season? (I guess as usual Prizes of the FFKM or St. Petersburg Fed, but that's more than two months away in April).

Yeah im not sure why Anisimov isnt here, he really should be but he also hasnt had the best of seasons so this also could be due to them not wanting him to drop too low in junior nats if he has another disaster skate that is not too good for him either mentally or reputation wise. Well hopefully its just a strategy and nothing is going on with him health wise.

Andrei didn't do too badly this season. He sometimes messed up his SP but did reasonably well in his FS. In my opinion, he should have even had the silver medal at the second Cup stage. But anyway, he still managed to qualify for Senior Nats, and won the Moscow Championships, which used to be a prestigious competition back in the day.
If he gets his SP under control, he should be able to repeat the top 6 finish from last year's Junior Nats. But he won't because he won't be there.
So yeah, I, too, hope he is doing fine health-wise and otherwise.
