Updated entry list with groupings - https://www.skatinginbc.com/sites/d...ytsectionsummerskateskatergroupings072424.pdf

Easier to read now by category, and Shohei Law was added to Senior Men.

Also they've done groupings for certain categories, and the announcement was updated to include how they were grouped:

Pre Novice to Senior Singles will be grouped by the skater’s highest personal best score within the last 12 months at the time of groupings. Skaters with the highest scores will be placed in a group together, then the next ranked skaters will be placed in a group together and so on. If a skater does not have a score
within the last 12 months they will be placed in the last ranked group.

I think that's interesting based on how the CQE Junior Women were grouped.

Interesting that Annika Behnke and Kole Sauve are both entered as singles skaters, I didn't notice that before.

I noticed last season at the Youth Olympics that Annika and Kole were pretty close in height for a pairs team. I wonder if that is why they are not doing pairs this year. They both have lots of time left for eligibility in Junior pairs so perhaps they will be back.

Start orders for the Singles categories are up. Rose Theroux isn't on them, which is probably for the best if she wasn't able to include a Flip or Lutz at Wild Rose.

The Junior Men who competed at Cranberry Cup are on them at the moment.

I'm trying to work out the time difference. Is it 7 hours behind the UK, or is it 8 hours like Vancouver?

Ignore me. I've now got the junior ladies I'd expected on 8 hours difference. Not sure why the first group wasn't there when I tried before!

Anneka Behnke is a lovely skater. It's a shame she and Suave seem to have split, though. I think she's go further in pairs than in singles.

That was interesting. I've been wondering for a while whether Uliana's weak skating skills and performance skills, and lack of progress over the past 18 months or so, were from her only being interested in jumps or if it was down to poor training. Watching the second junior ladies session today (groups 3 and 4), all the lasses from Champs have those same weaknesses - so it must be down to inadequacies in the training they are getting. Brookelynne Pollock was a slight exception as her performance skills were better than the others from there, but I suspect that was her and not the training. From the two groups I watched, the Kelowna skaters stood out as ones who were developing in a balanced way, and also Malia Stuart from Connaught.

David Howes needs to find form fast if he wants to make the JGP. 😐
I'm in the office so I can't watch for another half hour. I was hoping he'd do well here since he hasn't been on the alternates list yet for JGP. Sounds like he didn't :(

Fairly good skate for David Li. Rightly into 1st for the moment. Let's hope he doesn't go to pieces in the free this time...

It wasn't a disaster skate like his next gen free had been, but he is capable of a lot more. Two falls, one of which was a silly mistake.
