2024 CS John Nicks Pairs Challenge International: Info and pre-game chat

The 2024 John Nicks Pairs Challenge International is the second of 11 events of the 2024-25 Figure Skating Challenger Series and is scheduled to take place in New York, NY, USA, September 3-4, 2024.

The event will only feature the Pairs’ discipline and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating, and relevant ISU Communications.

The event will count towards ISU World Standing Points, Minimum Total Technical Score, Challenger Series in Figure Skating Ranking and Prize Money.

The Challenger Series is an International Figure Skating Series, introduced during the 2014-15 season. The series gives adequate opportunities for many skaters to compete at the international senior level and earn World Standing Points. The Series also increases the opportunity for Officials to officiate at an international level.

Digerness/Sadusky just scored 166 at NQS Cup of Colorado (not sure why Skatingscores hasn't updated the results of this event yet) - It wouldn't change their ranking, but I thought it was still a notable enough improvement. ☺️

They're still on the list for Lombardia, so it might be that they don't want to compete back to back weeks.
That would make sense, but Lombardia has a more difficult field. They need world ranking points and those are probably easier for them to get at John Nicks. They are in danger of getting overtaken by other US pairs.

Please don't read anything serious into my previous comment that I don't know how serious Emily's concussion might be. It may not be that serious—I was just saying that all I know is that she had a concussion, I don't know anything other than that.
