Caoilfhionn KAVANAGH and Allie PETERSON are new to team Ireland, I think?

Caoilfhionn is listed as a member on the website of a Finnish skating club, so I assume her family lived there/is living there, but her name is certainly very Irish. Based on the categories she is competing in in Finnish competitions, she must have been born in 2010 or 2011.
Allie trains in the USA with Tammy Gambill, and finished 5th at Midwestern Sectionals this season in Novices.

Thank you for starting the thread, @Walt FSHunter. I had been planning on doing it earlier this week, but unfortunately I have had no internet access for the past 5 days. (Suffice to say, it turns out that the router doesn't like falling into a basin of full of water and Flash liquid. :p And the new one took longer to arrive than promised). So, I'm glad you put it up.  :points:

:thank:

I see that the only Northerner entered, Dillon Judge, is listed as being from County Antrim this season, whereas he was listed as being from County Down last season. And I feel that I should explain why this has arisen.

Dillon is from Lisburn. Although Lisburn is a city in it's own right, is effectively a suburb of our capital city, Belfast. Both cities straddle the River Lagan. And the River Lagan acts as the boundary between County Antrim and County Down. So in each of these places, the part of the city that is north / west of the Lagan is in County Antrim, and the part of the city that is south / east of the Lagan is in County Down.

I suspect that the ISAI wasn't sure which side of the Lagan it was that Dillon is from. So, they guessed that he was from the County Down side. And now they have changed to the County Antrim side.

Personally, I would have preferred if he had stayed in County Down. Because I liked being able to say "Up Down" when cheering him on!

But, as it turned out, he has withdrawn. 😞

Maybe it's a sign... 🤔

They are both new to the Irish team, and they both became Irish Champions at their first attempt! :cheer:  :points:

Admittedly Caoilfhionn KAVANAGH (LH) was the only entry in Advanced Novice Ladies.

But, it was close in Junior Ladies. Reigning champion Sophia TKACHEVA (WX) was a withdrawal, so it was down to the two skaters that had moved up from Novices this season. Allie PETERSON (G) beat Saoirse O'SULLIVAN (T) by 3.40 points. And it was all down to the advantage she had from the SP.

Allie was only 0.60 points ahead of Saoirse in the FS. And, neither of them had a good start to their programmes. Saoirse got a 1 point deduction for a fall on her second element, the Double Salchow-Double Toe. And Allie got her opening element, an Axel, invalidated. I don't know if this was when she got the penalty, but Allie got a 2 point deduction for an interruption.

Does anybody know what happened her? I just checked the Dundee club's YouTube channel to see if there was a stream that I could wind back to watch it, and there is no sign of there being any steaming on there.

In fact, I can't find ANYTHING related to this year's Dundee Open - even the Entries / Results page! :drama: It's a pity, because it's always interesting to see how those Irish skaters that do both parts of the event get on.

Anyway, for those that have already completed their competitions:

:cheer: WELL DONE EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:

And for those that are still to compete (the Dundee Open continues into tomorrow):

:cheer: ALL THE BEST EVERYBODY!!! :cheer:
