2024 JGP Ankara is the fourth of seven individual events of the 2024-25 Junior Grand Prix series and will take place September 18-21, 2024, in Ankara, Turkey. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series consists of seven international junior invitational events during the fall culminating with the 2024-25 ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December 2024.

This event will feature the Singles (Women and Men), Pair and Ice Dance disciplines. It will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating, the Technical Rules for Ice Dance, and relevant ISU Communications.

Points will be awarded to skaters and teams based on their placements for each individual event. These points will determine rankings and qualification for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December.

World Standing points will also be awarded according to Communication No. 2550.

I'm sad panda a bit bc I see Veillon/Brandys are assigned, which practically erases chance they will be in Gdańsk and I wanted to see them live :(
Unless they are doing back-to-back (which I don't think is the case)

Wow! I've more kids here than I was expecting. :cheer:

After being replaced in Riga, I was expecting Stefania Yakovleva to be the Ladies entry for Cyprus here instead. And she is.

After being a substitute in the first two of the five competitions that Kyrgyzstan has Ladies slots in, I was hoping that Zhasmin Shlaga would get the nod here. And she has.

But I also have Zarah Wood / Alex Lapsky (GBR), who are due to do a second Junior GP in Pairs. Which I was not expecting. (I really should have, because they were the only entries in the March qualifier for the 2024 British Championships. Also, I didn't notice that we had a slot in all four of the Junior GP's that have pairs competitions).

Hang on, I suppose, strictly speaking, I should be referring to Zarah as my grandkid, given that I adopted her mother (Zoe Jones)... 🤔

Nah! I'm too young to have grandkids!

That's what happens when you adopt skaters that are older than you are!

I'm rather disappointed how Slovakia is using the spots that Adam earned last year. We have 4-5 eligible junior men (Alex Valky is doing both solo and pairs according to federation info), we've already wasted a spot in Riga, then as expected 2 in Bangkok and another spot here in Ankara. I'd be really surprised if anyone will be send to Wuxi, so that leaves us with 4 more spots, out of those I'm sure both Adam and Lukas will get another one, so that leaves only 2 spots for Niccolo and Alex to share, if they even get any. What a shame as any of those two would benefit from having two international assignments. While they are not on the same level as Adam, Lukas or Dmitry, if Adam's case taught us anything it's to let the skaters compete internationally as much as possible.

From Carol Lane's Twitter, 🇨🇦 Sophia Gover/Billy Wilson French and 🇸🇪Anna Mackenzie/Wesley Lockwood are being assigned here.

Mackenzie/Lockwood should replace Egenas/Young as they're the only Swedish team. Skate Canada hasn't updated the events page for who Gover/Wilson French will replace, I'd expect it to be Briere/Levesque. Edit: Changed my mind, it's going to be Veillon/Brandys. This overlaps with Nebelhorn, where several IAM Ontario teams are entered.
