2024 JGP Bangkok is the third of seven individual events of the 2024-25 Junior Grand Prix series and will take place September 11-14, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. The ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series consists of seven international junior invitational events during the fall culminating with the 2024-25 ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December 2024.

This event will feature the Singles (Women and Men) and Ice Dance disciplines and will be conducted in accordance with the ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules for Single & Pair Skating, the Technical Rules for Ice Dance, and relevant ISU Communications.

Points will be awarded to skaters and teams based on their placements for each individual event. These points will determine rankings and qualification for the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December.

World Standing points will also be awarded according to Communication No. 2550.

And it looks like a good field, quite a few little skaters I noted last year as ones to follow. Bangkok is also good for me timewise...

For anyone else who may be planning to watch in person - I emailed the organisers and they said tickets can be purchased at the venue on competition days. They cost 500 baht per day and they take cash payment. Official practices are not open to the public.

Update: the price is 800 baht per day

Nice to see so many entrants from non-traditional figure skating nations, in the solo disciplines, at any rate.

I think it can be very challenging for them to progress in their career, without a lot of home expertise.

Phattaratida trains in Colorado Springs and is coached by Tammy Gambill. She was very good at JGP Enya a couple of years ago (I think she placed fifth, but I'm saying that from memory rather than looking it up). She's had injury problems since which affected the rest of that season and also last season (created problems with jumps, particularly flip and lutz). If she is fit again, she could do well.

Seems like a bit smaller event by the number of entries. Would be nice if they allowed more entries based on the results of the WC per nation.

If you look at pages 14-17 of this document https://www.isu.org/docman-document...-66/33979-general-announcement-2024-25-1/file you will see that the number of spaces available (entries allowed) is consistent with the other JGP events. Some countries may have chosen not to enter skaters or may have only filled some of their spots.
