Matthias is nominated in the Juried Category - 2025-2026 Nominees for this costume alreadyMatias Lindfors SP. He started the season with pure purple costumes and from competition to competion the amount of decoration increased, with at JWC the decoration was expanded to his neck. For some reason I cannot insert pictures what ever method I try, so just link from forum's Ig page, somebody else can insert a photo.

you have to be an elf don't youI know that WTF quality is subjective and varies naturally person to person, but one of the stated criteria is that it makes you question reality for at least 5 seconds. Some of these nominations did not make me turn my head, exclaim, or question anything. For example, I did not even calmly raise my eyebrows at Liam Kapeikis's "corset" which I never saw as corset. I read it as a typical skater take on a fantasy costume. Likewise, I see Ilia's two Prince of Persia costumes as being rather nice takes on the skater sword & sandal genre, much like the Gladiator costumes worn by many. I'm a costumer, medieval re-enactor, and fantasy fan and I really like when male skaters use costumes with multiple textures and interesting shapes inspired (however loosely) by ancient history and fantasy genres rather than more shirts with a little glitter on them.
Sorry to be a wet blanket. I know this is meant to be fun but I do not like anyone's costume compared to porn, whether or not I like the costume. I wouldn't want skaters, who are already subjected to intense scrutiny and online bullying, to be scared off of trying interesting, creative, and yes the occasional WTF, costumes.
FWIW, as one of the judges, many of the costumes featured here are ones that one or more of us sincerely love. We very much intend this as a celebration of creativity, sometimes you have to WTF in the process of finding your style, and sometimes one person's WTF is another person's favorite look of all time.I know that WTF quality is subjective and varies naturally person to person, but one of the stated criteria is that it makes you question reality for at least 5 seconds. I very much doubt that any of them are gonna be scared off by us giggling at their get ups, given that none of their predecessors were by the many many articles over the years in major press and magazines being way ruder. We wouldn't be doing the WTF if we didn't love wild costumes, I have collected hundreds of examples of figure skating costumes (and for that matter a whole heap of of dodgy 70s-90s scifi costumes. And too many cutprice faux-medieval/fantasy.... thingies to count. I love them all.)I know that WTF quality is subjective and varies naturally person to person, but one of the stated criteria is that it makes you question reality for at least 5 seconds. Love it! (Am also wondering how often she had to replace torn bits... but that is not a WTF problem._ It reminds me of that Aussie costume designer at the Oscars one year who came in a dress made of gold credit cards.Olivia Corneil/Alexandre Emery's RD, I will miss them together- https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9x7s1c?start=3480
