At the same time, it seems that the arrangement of returning and quarantine time is still under negotiation? (at least skaters training overseas are now able to return to Japan or at least they've made the plan to return...)

The mandatory quarantine period is 2 weeks for returning athletes but they are now allowed to practice during the period as long as strict guidelines are in place.

see my thread on how to watch. Last year there was an app that could be had for 2 weeks for very little money. 100 channels live and on demand for up to two weeks. Thanks to Yuum we have the key as to what channel you have to be on for what comp. The hot setup is to find a laptop with an HDMI output port and use a cable to plug that into your big screen TV. The interface on the screen is pretty intuitve but you will want to practice before the comps start.

Uh, the type of adulation you're giving me is rather embarrassing. Sadly, I haven't attempted to use any sort of Japanese TV streaming services lately. I am aware that watching Japanese TV is a good way to learn Japanese, but I'm not much of a TV watcher. I let my iSakura subscription expire and when I wanted to renew it, I couldn't do it anymore. I'm meeting my Japanese conversation group tomorrow, maybe they can suggest a service or a VPN or something. I'll report back in the TV thread if I find out anything.

Sorry for the embarrassment. My appologis. I have changed my statement. But your work is much appreciated! iSakura was wonderful last year but you had to know what channel to be on and when to get what group....and I believe someone broke the code and put it up. Let us know what you find out about watching Japanese TV from your group. Especially on demand services, which is incredible if you think about it. What a concept. I havent tried google yet.

Like you , I dont watch much TV except figure skating and PBS specials, but I dont mind paying for services. With PBS, I pay for getting shows "on Demand" We shall see what your group says.

So the programs indicated by the yellow kanji are live broadcasts and the programs indicated by the red kanji are initial broadcasts. This may sound confusing, but you're looking at Fuji TV Two's schedule; something like the final men's free skate groups would be broadcast live on terrestrial Fuji TV on the 26th, but won't be broadcast on Fuji TV Two until the 30th. Thus, it would be the first broadcast on that channel.

Yeah, I was looking at this all wrong. Fuji 2 is Fuji CS, which is different than Fuji BS, Fuji terrestrial and FOD Premium.

I didn't post any news about Rika, as the report only suggested a high possibility of WD-ing, not confirmation. Perhaps we should wait until the official practices tomorrow or even until the opening drawing of starting order to see how the thing will go.

On the other hand, even if Rika wants to participate, that 1% of slim chance seems to be risking, as her main coach will probably not be here?
