48th Volvo Open Cup

The 48th Volvo Open Cup will take place Jan 20-23, 2023, in Riga, Latvia, at the Volvo Sports Center. This international event will feature the singles discipline (Women and Men) at the Senior level.

The competition will be conducted in accordance with the 2022 ISU Constitution and General Regulations, the 2022 Special Regulations and Technical Rules for Single Skating, as well as all relevant ISU Communications.

With the way things have been scheduled, we'll be constantly jumping back and forward between the two Entries / Results pages, I'm afraid. That's why I hate it when events have multiple Entries / Results pages. They should have one page to do the whole event. Makes it so much easier to keep track of what is going on.

Since I started out with Skate Helena yesterday, I think I will continue to watch it. Especially since we know that the European Criterium doesn't archive their livestreams.

I don't know what's going on. The Junior Ladies SP was supposed to start 15 minutes ago, but there is no sign of a livestream coming on air, and no sign of life on the livescoring page either.

But, I'll post the reminder post now, and cross my fingers that it has just been delayed and I will actually see Anna-Flora...


The Volvo Open starts with a Ladies triple-bill. 24 Juniors (four groups of 6); followed by 12 Seniors (two groups of 6); followed by 23 Advanced Novices (a group of 7, then two groups of 8).

The stream came on air 5 minutes ago, during the highlights of Skater #4, Alexandra MARTINEZ (ESP). That means I won't get to see Anna-Flora, as she started at #2.

Did you by any chance come on now looking to watch Darya, but forgot that Latvia is 2 hours ahead of us rather than the usual 1 hour? Because that frequently happens to me with competitions in Finland and the Baltic States.

Fortunately, this stream can be re-wound.

I hope she did well. It's a pity that there is no livescoring. But, it's the same over in Skate Helena, which is what I'm watching.

It is all Senior Men, but Fedir KULISH is competing in the Interclub part of the event because he has recently switched countries (UKR to LAT). It was supposed to be him and then 4 ISU skaters. But, it is now 4 in total, because the first ISU skater, Lauri LANKILA (FIN) has withdrawn.

I just came to watch everybody but I noticed Daria was here too She did okay but a fall of her 3S

Day 2 has a very early start. And a lot of confusion over the starting order, as the Time Schedule PDF was made out before a mistake in the scoring of my kid Anna-Flora COLMOR-JEPSEN (DEN) was corrected. According to the PDF, she is first to skate. According to the livescoring page, she is 20th to skate.

And to further compound matters, the livestream is counting down to half past the hour! So, if the skating is actually starting now, we might miss the first 3 skaters.

Junior Ladies FS is due to start now.
