We used to have a cat whose hobby, when she was about a year old and the equivalent of a human teenager, was jumping straight up a plain wall from a crouching start, and slapping it with her paw. Over and over, trying to improve her height. We offered to strap a piece of chalk to her paw so she could mark the wall and keep a record.
