Chafik Besseghier

French figure skater Chafik Besseghier was born in Grenoble, France, on Oct 11, 1989.

An atypical skating story, as he started skating at only 12, but his talent allowed him to reach the high-level. He started to land triple jumps by the end of his second year ! He mastered a quad jump (the toe loop) before his team mate Florent Amodio.

Chafik is the 2015 French Nationals Champion, and he finished 9th in the 2014 World Championships, setting two personal records (Total score and FS).

Nice to see a thread for Chafik. Although he may not have the greatest skating skills on earth, when one considers how late he started skating, it's really impressive what he can do. And I love his taste in music. I hope he'll have a better season this year.

Chafik is competing in Lombardia Trophy. He scored 73.58 with a 4T, 3A, 3Lz-3T, which put him in the lead. I hope a video come soon.

I totally agree with the fact that he is talented and works hard even if he is very difficult person to be coached. To start skating as late as he did and to reach the top level is just incredible.
I feel he hasn't even peaked yet.

I love the spirit of his programs, Short and Free !
Except the failed quads, the free program was quite strong, with two triple axels, 3LZ-3T and everything else, pretty well executed. I hope he will do even better in the GP ! Go Chaf !!!
