Hurrah, hurrah! Lindsay van Zundert had a great skate at NRW Trophy, and won the competition. This was unexpected, but her skate really was very good. Once she gets het triple-triple back (she showed she can do that at Nebelhorn) I'm sure she will reach the final at euros and maybe even at Worlds. Wonderful. She was helped a bit because Nicole Scott withdrew (and Nicole was first after the SP), but she managed to have a 17 point differential with the lady in second place in the Free Skate and still 13 points difference with number 2 in the end. Her skate was that good. Fantastic.

What do you know? Although the Dutch Skating website makes no mention of it (yet), this weekend there will be a Dutch presence at the Winter Star competition in Belarus.

In men Thomas Kennes will take part, in ladies both Lindsay van Zundert and Niki Wories are present and the Ice Dance couple Chelsea Verhaegh and Sherim van Geffen is also taking part.

I don't think Daria and Michel are lazy bones at all, although I would have loved to see them here. I think they're working on what did not go so well at NRW rather than not being willing to compete. It's different for Thomas - who missed out at NRW due to illness - and Niki - who also missed out at NRW but due to injury. I also think Lindsay in her first season as a senior just wants to get as many points as she can, even if they don't count for standings and wants to build on her success. Chelsea and Sherim just wish to compete as often as possible to get those minimums (TES) - and we all know there aren't that many opportunities this specific season.

But for who is interested in the competitions. Here is the link to the results page:

Competitions start at 12.00 Belarussian time (and at 14.00 or 2 PM Dutch time). Enjoy!

So pleased to see that Lindsay van Zundert had another strong competition! I enjoy her skating - do you know what her music is for the LP?

Thank you Merry. A pity she had a fall though, although she managed to pick it up quickly.

Lindsay's Music Free skate:
Results can be found in the links above: Niki only skated a SP, and had to withdraw (it was actually a bit too soon after her injury), Lindsay was second - despite not skating as well as at NRW (which she won), Thomas alas was not in form so it was good he could skate here (5th as final result) and Chelsea and Sherim got their Minimum TES for their rhythm dance for the WC, although they ended 7th and last.

Some links (I hope the rest can be found on the (re) live stream.
