Despite ending 11th at SC and having a fall Lindsay van Zundert was very satisfied with her first GP-experience. Here's an article about that (in Dutch).

She notes how enjoyable the experience was, that she knows her triple-triple falls a little short but you have to make a start in incorporating it in programmes to make that better, she is saddened by her Flip fall (in the Free) but will look back because she already knows what went wrong. She liked visiting Canada (she had not been there before) but found the jetlag bit something to get used to, and finally is looking forward already to next week where she will compete at her next GP (in France). :cheer: :cheer:

At the same time there is a battle royal going on between the two Dutch Ice Dance teams at the Mezza Luna cup. They are 6th and 7th after the RD and the score difference is 0.29 points. Exciting. I wish them both a good FD.:hap10::hap10::hap10:

Well, I didn't see it (no live stream) but at the Mezzaluna Cup Jakucs/Galli remained in 6th place and Sherim/Van Geffen in 7th, but placements are a little misleading here. Jakucs/Galli had a good Free Dance (they were 5th in that) but it just wasn't enough to move up a placement while Sherim/Van Geffen were 8th in the Free but had enough points in the RD to maintain 7th place. The difference between the two couples was in the end 9.20 points. Hurrah for both. :cheer: :cheer:

Still, it is nice to see the rivalry, makes competitions so much more exciting. I believe Jakucs and Galli now also have reached their minimum TES to participate in the WC which is a victory in itself.

Nazomi van Bergen Bravenboer, a Dutch junior woman, will compete next week at the 47th Volvo Open Cup (3rd and 4th of November 2022) in Riga (Latvia).

There will also be a Dutch presence at the next competition of the Challenger series Ice challenge in Austria (Graz) from 9-13 November. Our Dance couples Jakucs/Galli and Verhaegh/Van Geffen will both compete there.

Nazomi van Bergen Bravenboer is in 18th place (out of 24) after the SP at the Volvo Open Cup.

Among the Advanced Novice girls, inter club, Pheline Wisse is the 32nd entree.
There is also a Dutch girl among the Chicks axel 2015 group (so rather young): Vera Kalbasenka.
Four girls among the basic novice: Lucca Dijkhuizen, Kahlan Gooijer, Eline van der Plas, and Lucia van Stenis.

Nazomi van Bergen Bravenboer was 12th (!) in the FS - out of 24 - and managed to get a higher placement overall compared to yesterday. She finishes in 15th. :cheer::cheer::cheer:

The rest of the girls still have to skate!

Lindsay van Zundert is in 11th place after the SP at the GP de France. Regrettably she had a fluke fall near the end of the programme.

Congratulations to Lucca Dijkhuizen, who was first (out of 35) in the Basic Novice Category at the Volvo Open cup.
Lucia van Stenis was 6th, Kahlan Gooijer 7th, and Eline van der Plas 24th, all in the same category.
Well done girls! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Pheline Wisse was 26th (out of 33) in the Advanced Novice Category. Good for her! :hap10:

Doing back to back competitions in different time zones is not for everyone. Lindsay van Zundert ended in 11th place at the French GP but with a lesser Free Skate than last week at Canada's GP. Never mind. She now has time to prepare for the rest of the season! A little hurrah for her determination!

Not only will there be Junior women at Ice challenge, Senior ID'ers at the Challenger competition at the same time but there will also be one of the two Dutch Pairs couples at the seperate Pairs competition. Nika Osipova and Dmitry Epstein will compete there in a small (5 couples) but very international field (also 5 countries). :hap10: :hap10:

At the Ice Challenge in Graz, the juniors have skated their SP's. For good order: this part of the competition is not part of the Challenger series.

Results (out of 33 riders):
Isabella Smit 14th
Julia van Dijk 24th
Emilia Soloukhin 25th
Jolanda Vos 26th

Apart from Isabella, all the girls are pretty close together! We wish you a lot of success in the Free! :hap10: :hap10:

It is with great joy and pride that I can announce that our second pair, Nika Osipova and Dmitry Epstein, are also competing at one of the GP's this season: at GP Finland in Espoo they will also be present. I know there are probably less than joyful reasons for it (injuries probably and sadly) but I am still pleased that they got one. Daria Danilova and Michel Tsiba already had 2, NHK Trophy and the Espoo one. This means there will also be a bit of healthy rivalry between the 2 Dutch teams. I am really looking forward to it!

Junior Women at Ice Challenge in Graz:
Emily Soloukhin withdrew after the SP (I don't know why). 32 riders for the FS.
Jolanda Vos who was 26th after the SP, was 25th in total (which actually was the same as before as there was one less woman).
Julia van Dijk rose up a bit: she ended in 21st place (and after the SP was 24th). She did have a blade cut injury. We hope she is ok.
Isabella Smit wasn't as good in the FS as in the SP and ended in 19th place'.

Well done girls! :cheer: :hap10::cheer:

It's a battle Royal among the Dutch Ice Dancers once again. Hanna and Alessio are 9th after the RD and Chelsea and Sherim 10th, both at the IceChallenge in Graz. The difference between them is a little bit more than 2 points. How exciting!

The Ice challenge in Graz finished with a second place for Nika Osipova and Dmitry Epstein in pairs. Hurrah! There were only 5 pairs and it doesn't count as a Challenger, but I still say: Kudos! After all the bad luck last year, this is just fantastic. :cheer::cheer:

In Ice Dance, also in Graz, and it does count as a Challenger, Chesea Verhaegh and Sherim van Geffen were 10th with 120.04 points, and Hanna Jakucs and Alessio Galli were 9th with 125.67 points. Very close, so it's still the ultimate rivalry between the two Dutch ID teams who will go to Europeans and Worlds. It remains exciting! :hap10::hap10:

I wish to report on Daria and Michel who stand in 6th after the SP of the NHK Trophy. Despite the errors I am still proud of them, if only because they managed to turn their disastrous DS last season at Europeans, into a level 4 one here! Hurrah and good luck tomorrow! :cheer::cheer:

Well, 6th after the SP, 6th after the FS. It may not look like progress placement wise, but is definitely is skate wise. And that counts for me. Hurrah Daria and Michel! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Both our Dutch pairs, Daria and Michel as well as Nika and Dmitry, will be competing at the Espoo GP this weekend.

One of our ID teams, Hanna Jakucs and Alessio Galli, will be competing at the Bosphorus Istanbul Cup which is taking place the following weekend, while one of our Junior women, Lois Libregts, will also compete there.

I forgot to note that many Dutch women and girls will be at NRW Trophy this weekend, as well as Hanna and Alessio.

@CaroLiza_fan drew my attention towards the Tallinn Trophy, Estonia (held from November 24-27) where a Dutch girl will compete at both the basic and advanced novice level. We will see if she really does both - that would be quite an achievement.

Sorrt. I didn't notice that the Interclub part of the event was being held the weekend before the ISU part.

At Basic Novice level, Floor van der Pas finished 11th out of 32, with a score of 31.92.

At Advanced Novice level, she finished 14th out of 26 in the SP, with a score of 26.12; 15th out of 26 in the FS, with a score of 47.67; and 15th out of 26 overall, with a score of 73.79.

It is interesting to note, this is not the first time she has competed at 2 different levels at the Tallinn Trophy. In 2018, she competed at both Cubs and Chicks levels.

I am always in awe of skaters who compete in more than one competition at the same event. Especially when they are doing more than one programme in the same day. But this time is particularly significant, as this was her first time competing at Advanced Novice level.

:cheer: WELL DONE FLOOR!!! :cheer:
