Ekaterina Mironova & Evgenii Ustenko

Ekaterina Olegovna Mironova (Russian: Екатерина Олеговна Миронова, born 14 November 2003 in Saint Petersburg) and Evgenii Andreevich Ustenko (Russian: Евгений Андреевич Устенко, born 30 July 2002 in Saint Petersburg) are Russian ice dancers.

Ekaterina and Evgenii teamed up on March 21, 2016. The couple is coached by Mironova's mother Elena Sokolova. They became the first and only ice dancers from Saint Petersburg to make the Russian national team. They are the 2021-22 Russian Cup Final champions. They won three bronze medals in the Russian Grand Prix series.

They have been also working with multiple international specialists such as Matteo Zanni and Igor Shpilband.

The performers for their FD is the Tiger Lillies not “Tiget” Lillies (possible typo) from their Hamlet album. The last song sounds like “Ophelia’s Dream.” I really like how the added the “to be or not to be at the very end” quote fat the end of their program for this Hamlet program. This team has very interesting music choices and choreography that make them intriguing. Does anyone know if they or their coaches pick the music?

It depends. The Hamlet FD was Ekaterina's idea. She also often does music cuts and costumes designes.

Congratulations to Ekaterina and Evgeni on placing in the top 6 of Russian nationals and making it to the national team for the third season in a row! Of course, multiple things to improve. But they got one the highest BVs and really look like a top couple now.

From Sikharulidze interview:
— Some coaches, regardless of which places their students took, expressed confusion about the scores and the place of the St. Petersburg couple Ekaterina Mironova/Evgeni Ustenko.
— Already at the beginning of the season I saw how much Katya and Zhenya had improved. I started discussing it with the experts and heard from them that Mironova and Ustenko's technique is not inferior to the leading couples of the country anymore. Both at the Grand Prix stage in St. Petersburg and at the Russian Championships they got what they deserved. They have every chance to develop and improve. I see that both the skaters and their coach Elena Sokolova are interested in learning and taking something new from the leading specialists. It can't but rejoice. After all, there has been no ice dancing in St. Petersburg since Soviet times.
