Liza finished 8th out of 14 in the SP, with a score of 48.45.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch LIVE. However, I watched her on the archived livestream, and I have to say, I really enjoyed it!

I was kinda disappointed that there were only two comments about Liza in the competition thread - one was telling us who she was, and the other was a brief comment saying that the dress was beautiful and the skating was good. I suppose that is a symptom of the draw - she skated straight after Choi Da-Bin (KOR), who was one of the favourites going into the event.

Because her ISU Bio has not been updated from last season, going into the segment we didn't know what she would be skating to. So, I was delighted when the music started and I realised that Liza had kept her SP from last season. I absolutely love "Danse Macabre"!

And that blue and black dress is just perfect for it!

I think she got too excited by the occasion of her international Senior debut at the start of the programme. The first element, the Triple Flip, was completely wild! She just about landed it, and no more. The Judges were nearly unanimous in giving her -4's; the exception was Judge 9, who gave -3. But, she also got what is the bigget GOE hit that I have seen in a long time, at -2.12! Although it really ate away at the Base Value, it still ended up as the second highest scoring element of the whole programme.

Thankfully, she settled down after that. And by and large, everything was good for the rest of the programme.

Her second element was the Triple Lutz-Double Toe combination, and it was beautiful. But, apart from a solitary -1 from Judge 2, everythin gwas neutral. Including the GOE. And because it had by far the biggest Base Value of the programme, it meant that this was by far the highest scoring element of the programme.

From this, she went straight into her third element, the Change Foot Combination Spin. And it was exquisite! The Judges thought so too, with three giving it +1; and four giving it +2. It also got the highest GOE of the programme at +0.40.

Unfortunately, Liza had a dodgy landing on the fourth element, the Triple Axel. This meant that she got all minuses for it. She got -3 from Judge 2; -2 from four Judges; and -1 from two Judges.

Like she did earlier, she went straight into her next element from the jump. I thought the Layback Spin was beautiful, but I have to be honest, I thought they mightn't like the start of it. Fortunately, there was no sign of that in the Protocols. She got two 0's; a +1 from Judge 4; and four +2's. She also got the second highest GOE of the programme at +0.38.

The final two elements, the Step Sequence and the Flying Camel Spin, were both great!

Liza looked pretty peeved off when her scores were announced. It just shows how determined she is to do the best she can.

Liza is currently in the middle of a close group of 3 skaters covered by 1.82 points. She is 1.39 points behind 7th position, Eliška BŘEZINOVÁ (CZE), and 0.43 points ahead of 9th position, Sofia Lexi Jacqueline FRANK (PHL).

Mone CHIBA (JPN) in 6th position is 7.82 points ahead of Březinová. So, the most that Liza can hope for is to climb up one position.

Nevertheless, a Top 7 would be great result for her first international Senior level competition.

So, let's hope she can put in a good FS and get it!

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start at 18:05:00 EDT Friday (22:05:00 GMT Friday / 23:05:00 BST Friday / 01:05:00 EEST Saturday / 01:05:00 MSK Saturday). So 6 hours from now.

Liza will be the 7th skater to start. So, third and middle skater in Group 2 (and antepenultimate skater before the resurfacing).

The Group 2 Warm-Up is due to start at 18:42:00 EDT Friday (22:42:00 GMT Friday / 23:42:00 BST Friday / 01:42:00 EEST Saturday / 01:42:00 MSK Saturday). So 6h 37m from now.

Liza is due to start at 19:04:00 EDT Friday (23:04:00 GMT Friday / 00:04:00 BST Saturday / 02:04:00 EEST Saturday / 02:04:00 MSK Saturday). So 6h 59m from now.

Liza finished 8th out of 14 in the FS, with a score of 86.26. This meant that she remained in 8th place overall, with a score of 134.71.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch LIVE. However, I watched her on the archived livestream, and I have to say, apart from a couple of major mistakes, I really enjoyed it!

After keeping her Short Programme from last season, Liza has a new Free Skate. And, although some will complain about it being a warhorse (and did in the competition thread!), I like "Experience" by Ludovico Einaudi. I enjoyed it more than I enjoyed her FS from last season.

SInce I wasn't able to comment at the time, here are a couple of comments from other members:

Elizabet. Really pretty blue dress. I like that is has different shades of blue. I like this program to Experience, some good elements.

And:

This is the 1st time ive watched Elizabeth skate, she did really well here:clap:

While her jumps are not particularly aesthetically pleasing, she fought hard for them and for the most part got them done. Hopefully they will work on her leg wrap cause I feel like if they can fix that this girl has potential to do really well.

The first element was a Triple Flip-Double Toe combination. And I thought it looked good. But, the reaction in the Protocols was largely neutral. Apart from a -1 from Judge 5, all the Judges gave 0. And the GOE was 0 as well. Nevertheless, having the second highest Base Value meant that it remained the second highest scoring element of the programme.

The second element, the Triple Lutz, was the first of the problems. Basically, she did it too close to the edge of the rink, and had to take avoiding action to prevent her foot hitting the boards hard. Unsrprisingly, this made the Protocols look not very pretty. The Judges marks were two -3's; four -2's; and -1 from Judge 6. It also got the third biggest GOE hit of the programme at -1.30.

The third element, the Double Axel, looked lovely to me. But the reaction from the Judges and the Panel was completely neutral. It went straight into the fourth element, the Change Foot Combination Spin, which I also thought looked lovely. It got a completely positive response. It got +1 from three Judges; +2 from two Judges; and +3 from Judge 2. It also got the highest GOE of the programme, at +0.56.

Unfortunately, the Triple Loop was under-rotated (for once, even I spotted it!) Hence, it got a completely negative response. Four Judges gave -3; and three Judges gave -2. It also got a big GOE hit of -1.02.

Liza looked very confident when doing her Step Sequence, and this was reflected in the Protocols. The Judges gave three +1's; and four +2's. And it got +0.42 in GOE.

Unfortunately, the next two elements didn't go as well. Although not to the same extreme, the Triple Lutz-Half Loop-Double Salchow combination had a similar problem to the Triple Lutz that she did on it's own earlier in the programme. Too close to the boards. And it looked rather messy as a result. However, the Protocols weren't as bad as I was expecting. The Judges marks were three -2's; three -1's; and 0 from Judge 4. And the GOE was -0.83. But, because it had the biggest Base Value of the programme, despite everything it ended up as the highest scoring element of the programme!

As for the Triple Flip, I didn't see anything wrong with it. However, it turns out that it didn't have a clear edge, and was landed on the quarter. Consequently, it got -3 from all of the Judges, and the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.59.

The Choreographic Sequence looked fine to me, but had a real mixed bag of opinions from the Judges. Judge 5 gave -3; Judge 2 gave -1; three Judges gave 0; and two Judges gave +1. As for GOE, it was neutral at 0.

Then came the biggest problem - the Double Axel. It was all a mess! Liza landed awkwardly, which spun her around, meaning she had to have a double hands down to avoid getting called for a fall. Unfortunately, her knee then hit the ice, which meant that the fall did end up getting called. Eight of the Judges gave -5; while Judge 4 gave -4. On top of that, it got the bigget GOE hit of the programme, at -1.65.

The final two elements led directly on from the Axel. The Change Foot Combination Spin and the Layback spin both looked good to me, but they both got negative GOE, at -0.12 and -0.24 respectively. Also, the Judges scores were very different. The former got -2 from Judge 6; two -1's; and four 0's. The latter got -3 from Judge 2; three -2's; and three -1's.

I wonder if the fact that the music ended just after she started the Layback Spin was part of the reason for this.

Liza did appear to be tired after she finished.

When she was waiting for her scores, Liza seemed very happy, alughing and joking with her coach. But when her scores were announced, you could see she wasn't sure how to react. She seemed disappointed. And a look at her coach and wee shrug of the shoulders appeared to confirm that.

Liza finished the Free Skate 8.10 points behind 7th position, Emmi PELTONEN (FIN), and 5.35 points ahead of 9th position, Sofia Lexi Jacqueline FRANK (PHL).

Overall, Liza finished 5.16 points behind 7th position, Peltonen, and 5.78 points ahead of 8th position, Frank.

I wonder - is the Ice Peaks rink in Holon larger than the Sportplexe Pierrefonds rink that this event was held on? Because Liza did seem to be having issues with her spatial awareness.

Hopefully she will have her mind tuned into the rink the next time we see her. Because I love these two programmes, and want to see them done cleanly. I have a feeling that they will serve her very well this season.

All in all, not bad for her international Senior level debut!

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

Liza finished 17th out of 31 in the SP, with a score of 50.08.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

Liza going through some small practice jumps when she was being introduced by the rink announcer.

Nice of Diana to go and talk to Liza beforehand. I am not surprised that she is just happy to be there.

Didn't really see her much after that.

Here is what I wrote just before she started her programme:

Right, first time Liza has been able to compete since her season debut at the Autumn Classic back in September.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST LIZA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

Second "Danse Macabre" I've seen today. And at least this one is at the proper speed!

Lovely combination to start.

Totally popped the jump, but immediately made up for it when she went into a lovely combination spin.

Yes! Another lovely jump followed by a lovely combination spin.

No "big" elements after that, but everything went well.

Diana really impressed with the spin they showed after the popped jump in the replays.

Liza very happy sitting waiting for her scores.

Diana going on about how impressed she is with Liza and her approach to everything. So am I. Why do you think I adopted her?

Into 2nd with 50.08.

New highest score for the SP this season. (She scored higher with the same programme a few times last season. But bear in mind that her previous competition was her first of the season, and life hasn't been normal in recent weeks).

STOP THE COMPETITION!!! MY GIRLS ARE 1-2!!!

Liza is currently 0.55 points behind 16th position, Linnea CEDER (FIN), and 0.38 points ahead of 18th position, Tetiana FIRSOVA (UKR). All three of them are part of a larger group of 17 skaters covered by 8.33 points, stretching from Olivia LISKO (FIN) in 8th position, 3.81 points ahead of Liza, to Yelizaveta BABENKO (UKR) in 24th position, 4.52 points behind Liza.

When you have a group this big, anything can happen. There is the potential for Liza to move up considerably, or she could move down considerably.

So, she needs to have a good Free Skate to make sure she moves up.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start at 16:15:00 CET (15:15:00 GMT / 17:15:00 EET / 18:15:00 MSK). So 9 hours from now.

Liza will be the 15th skater to start. So, fifth and last skater in Group 3 (and fifth skater after the resurfacing).

The Group 3 Warm-Up is due to start at 18:03:20 CET (17:03:20 GMT / 19:03:20 EET / 20:03:20 MSK). So 10h 48m from now.

Liza is due to start at 18:42:10 CET (17:42:10 GMT / 19:42:10 EET / 20:42:10 MSK). So 11h 27m from now.

Liza finished 28th out of 30 in the FS, with a score of 76.49. This meant that she dropped to 23rd place overall, with a score of 126.57.

Although I wasn't able to watch LIVE, I did unfortunately watch Liza within an hour of her doing her FS. And I say "unfortunately" because it was heartbreaking to watch.

Our fan of pretty dresses did watch LIVE, and this is what she said:

Not her best. But pretty blue dress and a good program. The highlight level 4 step sequence.

Here is what I wrote when I did watch it:

Right, catching up on Liza now before Aleksandra comes on.

Diana already praising her skating before she even starts.

Not a great landing on the first jump, the Triple Flip.

Fell on her second jump, the Triple Lutz.

Better on the third jump, the Double Axel.

Combination spin very good.

But singled out her next jump, the Loop.

Step sequence very good.

Not a great landing on first part of combination, which meant she couldn't get the second part right either.

Double hands down on next jump, the Triple Flip. I think this was supposed to be a combination, but because she couldn't attach anything it got called as a repeated element.

It's getting very ragged. Popped the next jump. And was way out of shape on the spin that followed.

She looked thoroughly deflated when she finished.

When they showed her waiting for her scores, I thought she was crying. But it was just the way the light was catching her face.

Into 7th.

:ghug:

CaroLiza_fan

I don't want to dwell on what happened. The Protocols were not pretty. Of all her jumps, only two of them were not accompanied by a line that was completely full of minus numbers. The Single Loop was completely neutral for both Judges marks and GOE. Meanwhile, the Double Axel got 0 from three Judges; and +1 from four Judges. And GOE of +0.20.

Obviously, she got 2 points deducted for the falls. But she also got a further point deducted for a time violation, presumably because she only started the Layback Spin as the music finished. (Incidentally, apart from a -1 from Judge 4, everything it got was neutral).

Liza finished the Free Skate 1.19 points behind 27th position, Julija POLNIUK (POL), and 6.82 points ahead of 29th position, Agnieszka REJMENT (POL).

Overall, Liza finished 0.75 points behind 22nd position, Daria ZSIRNOV (HUN), and 0.46 points ahead of 24th position, Gerli LIINAMAE (EST). Zsirov was at the head of a group of 5 skaters covered by 1.55 points that stretched down to Polniuk in 26th position, 0.80 points behind Liza.

This skate is not representative of Liza. She is capable of much better. But, everybody has a bad day. And with what is going on in her home country, I can't imagine that Liza gets to train as much as she is used to. So, whilst she was able to put together a good SP performance, a good FS as well was always going to be asking a lot.

But the fact that she was able to compete in Warsaw at all is a massive achievement at these difficult times.

Skate Helena Senior Ladies SP: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Liza finished 1st out of 8 in the SP, with a score of 51.27.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch Skate Helena.

Looking at the Protocols, there were only two elements that had issues. The first was the opening element, the Triple Flip-Double Toe combination. The first part had an unclear edge. it got -2 from Judge 4; -1 from Judge 5; 0 from two Judges; and +1 from Judge 3. It also got the second biggest GOE hit of the programme at -0.18, but because it had the highest Base Value, it only dropped it down to being the second highest scoring element of the programme.

The other element that had issues was the fifth element, the Layback Spin. Now, whatever went wrong must have looked really bad, because the Judges gave it three -4's; and two -3's. It also got the biggest GOE hit of the programme at -0.44 and, because it had the lowest Base Value, it remained as the lowest scoring element of the programme.

Everything else went very well, with all the numbers being positive. Indeed, there were only six +1's; the vast majority of the Judges marks were +2 or +3. Three of the +1's came for the second element, the Triple Lutz. The other two Judges gave it +2. But, it is significant as it got the highest GOE of the programme at +0.79. And because it had the second highest Base Value, it became the highest scoring element of the programme.

The best Judges marks came or the third element, the Change Foot Combination Spin. It got +2 from three Judges; and +3 from two Judges. Unfortunately, it got the lowest of the positive GOE's at +0.44. And because it had the second lowest Base Value, it remained as the second lowest scoring element of the programme.

Liza is 0.99 points ahead of 2nd position, Anastasia GRACHEVA (MDA), and 9.42 points ahead of 3rd position, Antonina DUBININA (SRB).

With less than a point separating Liza and Anastasia, this is going to be a titanic battle over the Gold and Silver Medals. Either skater could win it. And either skater could lose it.

So, let's hope Liza has a good Free Skate and claims the title!

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start at 14:00:00 CET (13:00:00 GMT / 15:00:00 EET / 16:00:00 MSK). So 6 hours from now.

Liza will be the 8th skater to start. So, fourth and last skater to go in Group 2 (and last skater to go in the segment).

And that is as much as I can tell you, because the Time Schedule PDF's don't work.

Liza finished 1st out of 8 in the FS, with a score of 93.72. This meant that she remained in 1st position overall, with a score of 144.99.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch Skate Helena.

Looking at the Protocols, it was not plain sailing to the title. There were quite a few issues, the first being the very fist jump she did.

The opening element was a Triple Flip-Double Toe combination. And the Triple Flip was under-rotated. It got -3 from Judge 3; -2 from three Judges; and -1 from Judge 2. it also got the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.85. However, because it had the third highest Base Value, it remained as the third highest scoring element of the programme.

The combination she did as her second element, the Triple Lutz-Half Loop-Double Salchow, went much better. It got -0 from Judge 5; +1 from two Judges; and +2 from two Judges. It also got the highest GOE of the programme, at 0.79. And because it already had the highest Base Value, it remained as the highest scoring element of the programme.

The next two elements, the Double Axel and the Change Foot Combination Spin, also went well. Indeeed, the spin got the best Judges marks of the programme, with +2 from four Judges; and +3 from Judge 3. It also got the second highest GOE of the programme, at +0.60.

Unfortunately, the Triple Loop that followed was under-rotated, and she fell. Consequently, it got -5 from all five Judges. it also got the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.96.

The Step Sequence that she did next went well, but then she SIngles the Lutz that was being done on it's own. However, it wasn't that costly in the greater scheme of things. The Judges gave it two -1's and three )'s. And the GOE was only slightly negatative, at -0.02. It already had the lowest Base Value, so it didn't make much of an impact on her TES.

Similarly with the next element, the Triple Flip, which didn't have a clear edge. Judge 4 gave it -1; while the four remaining Judges gave it 0. It also got neutral GOE. And because it had the second highest Base Value, it therefore remained as the second highest scoring element.

After that, it mostly went well. The only possible exception was the penultimate element, the Flying Change Foot Combination Spin. The Judges marks were mixed, with -2 from Judge 2; two -1's; and two +2's. So, I don't know what was going on. All I know is that it got neutral GOE.

Liza finished the Free Skate 0.94 points ahead of 2nd position, Anastasia GRACHEVA (MDA) and 13.82 points ahead of 3rd position, Hana CVIJANOVIĆ (HRV).

Overall, Liza finished 1.93 points ahead of 2nd position, Gracheva, and 24.10 points ahead of 3rd position, Cvijanović.

It may not have been perfect, but she got the job done. In fact, even though the programme was not clean, her Total Elements Score was higher than the total Base Value of her elements. So that is something to be pleased with.

Her only real rival, Gracheva, didn't have the best Free Skate either. She may have beat Liza on TES, but she lost points compared to her programme's total Base Value.

Like with their Junior counterparts, the fact that Liza and Nastya had more difficult programmes than the rest of the field ensured that they were at the top of the standings no matter what happened.

Where Liza won it, though, was on the Programme Components Score. All her scores here were higher than Gracheva.

It's a pity that Liza is not going to the European Championships in a few days time (she is the alternate, behind Mariia SENIUK). But, she is due to be in action again the following week at the Volvo Open Cup.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

Liza finished 3rd out of 15 in the SP, with a score of 56.53.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the Bavarian Open.

MORE TO FOLLOW

Liza is 0.48 points behind 2nd position, Olga MIKUTINA (AUT), and 2.55 points ahead of 4th position, Eva-Lotta KIIBUS (EST). Kiibus is at the head of a group of 2 skaters covered by 0.47 points, which is completed by Léa SERNA (FRA) in 5th position, 3.02 points behind Liza.

Although the Gold Medal is probably out of reach barring a disaster - the leader Livia KAISER (CHE) is 7.11 points ahead of Liza - Liza has a very good shot at the Silver Medal. But, she has to be careful of the two skaters behind her.

So, she needs to put in a good Free Skate to maximise her chances.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies SP is due to start today at 10:00:00 CET (09:00:00 GMT / 11:00:00 EET / 12:00:00 MSK). So 3 hours from now.

Liza will be the 13th skater to start. So, third and middle skater to go in Group 3.

The Group 3 Warm-Up is due to start at 11:37:00 CET (10:37:00 GMT / 12:37:00 EET / 13:37:00 MSK). So 4h 37m from now.

Liza is due to start at 11:58:00 CET (10:58:00 GMT / 12:58:00 EET / 13:58:00 MSK). So 4h 58m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Liza finished 1st out of 15 in the FS, with a score of 114.05. This meant that she climbed to 2nd position overall, with a score of 170.58.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the Bavarian Open.

Looking at the Protocols, there were only two elements that had issues.

The first was the third element, the Triple Salchow. I'm not sure what the issue was. It got -2 from Judge 1; -21 from three Judges; and 0 from Judge 3. It also got the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.43.

The other element that had issues was the seventh element, the Triple Lutz-Halfloop-Double Salchow. The Triple Lutz was landed on teh quarter. It got -4 from all the Judges. It also got the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -2.36. However, because it had the second highest Base Value, it only dropped to being the third highest scoring element.

Everything else went very well. But, I want to highlight two elements.

Going back to the start of the programme, the opening element was the Triple Flip-Double Toe. It got +1 from Judge 4; and +2 from the remaining four Judges. It also got the second highest GOE of the programme, at 1.06. And because it had the thirdhighest Base Value, this meant that it became the second highest scoring element of the programme.

The second element was the Triple Lutz-Double Axel done in sequence. It got _1 from Judge 5; +2 from three Judges; and +3 from Judge 1. It also got the highest GOE of the programme, at +1.18. And because it already had the highest Base Value, it remained as teh highest scoring element of the programme.

Liza finished the Free Skate 0.53 points ahead of 2nd position, Olga MIKUTINA (AUT) and 2.37 points ahead of 3rd position, Livia KAISER (CHE). 10.82 points behind Kaiser was a tight group where 4 skaters were covered by 0.85 points, which was headed by Eva-Lotta KIIBUS (EST) in 4th position, 12.66 points behind Liza.

Overall, Liza finished 4.74 points behind 1st position, Kaiser, and 0.05 points ahead of 3rd position, Mikutina. 15.69 points behind Mikutina was a tight group where 3 skaters were covered by 2.81 points, which was headed by Kiibus in 4th position, 15.74 points behind Liza.

Not only did Liza win the Free Skate, but she also broke the 100 point barrier for the first time to achieve a new absolute PB score for the Free Skate. Not only that, but in winning the Silver Medal overall, she improved her absolute PB for the total score by a massive 25.59 points!

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

It will be interesting to see what happens at the Challenge Cup, because Mariia Seniuk an Liza are both entered for it. So, I suspect that the Israeli Fed are using it as a showdown to choose which of them goes to Senior Worlds. Mariia still has the higher absolute PB from the Denis Ten Memorial earlier in the season (5.17 points higher than Liza at the Bavarian Open), but her scores have been considerably lower since then. Right now, Liza is the one on an upward trajectory.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

Liza finished 10th out of 13 in the SP, with a score of 51.07.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

It's been that long since I saw Liza that I couldn't remember what her dress looks like. But, I guessed correctly which one was her.

We didn't actually see her doing much in the way of elements within camera shot. But, in the second half of the warm-up, she did two lovely jumps at the far end of the rink from the camera, and a lovely Bielmann Spin nearer the camera.

I hope everything is just as lovely come the programme.

CaroLiza_fan

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

I love this programme.

Beautiful Double Axel to start.

Fall on Triple Lutz.

But combination spin good. And so was Layback Spin that followed.

Combination jump good.

Possibly a stumble during the Step Sequence, but it may just be part of the choreography.

Beautiful combinatioon spin to finish with.

When doing the de-brief with her coach during the highlights, you could see she was disappointed. And when it went to full-screen, she looked like she was close to tears.

Into 3rd.

She's disappointed with her score. She's dropped her head in her hands.

But, it looked good to me, so...

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

Liza finished 7th out of 13 in the FS, with a score of 91.42. This meant that she climbed to 7th position overall, with a score of 142.49.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

Well, it was very easy to spot Liza today. Two of the skaters were wearing dark dresses with black tights, and the other two were wearing blue dresses with bare legs. But, I remembered that neither of Liza's dresses were a solid colour. And then she took off her jacket very early on, which confirmed it.

She seemed to have a good warm-up. Didn't spot any mistakes.

CaroLiza_fan

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

Beautiful combination jump to start with.

Very weird fall on the Triple Lutz. It looked like she went into it too fast, and couldn't get it landed.

Double Salchow good. And the combination spin that immediately followed it was beautiful.

Triple Loop was beautiful.

She was really going for it during the Step Sequence.

Popped her Lutz. But quickly made up for it with her sequence of jumps.

She looked visibly tired during the next combination.

But, there was no sign of fatigue when she was doing her final combination spin.

She looks disappointed and frustrated sitting waiting for her scores.

Oh boys but she is disappointed. She looks like she could cry.

She goes into the lead of both FS and overall.

It's a big lead overall, but that is because the skaters behind her have all changed positions compared to the SP. The skater directly behind her now is the one that was last in the SP.

Well, at least she has maintained her position.

:cheer: WELL DONE LIZA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

Looking at the Protocols, there were only three elements that had issues. Obviously, the first was the second element, the Triple Lutz that she fell on. It was also downgraded. Unsurprisingly, it got -5 from all the Judges. It also got the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.05.

The next element with issues was actually the fifth element, the Triple Loop. I thought it looked beautiful, but it turns out that it was landed on the quarter. It got -2 from four Judges; and -1 from Judge 4. It also got the third biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.98.

The final element with issues was actually the eighth element, the Triple Flip-Double Axel done in sequence. Again, I thought it was good, but it turns out that the Axel was under-rotated. It got -3 from Judge 5; and -2 from the remaining four Judges. It also got the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.06. However, because it had the highest Base Value, it remained as the highest scoring element of the programme.

As for the elements that went well, I clearly wasn't the only one that liked the opening element, the Triple Flip-Double Toe. It got 0 from Group 3; +2 from three Judges; and +3 from Judge 5. It also got the highest GOE of the programme, at +1.06. And because it had the second higehst Base Value, this made it the second highest scoring element of the programme. (But only by 0.01 points).

The best Judges marks were for the fourth element, the Change Foot Combination Spin. It got +1 from Judge 3; +2 from three Judges; and +3 from Judge 4. It also got the third highest GOE of the programme, at +0.70. And because it had the fourth highest Base Value, it remained as the fourth highest scoring element of the programme.

The third highest scoring element was the tenth element, the Double Axel-Half Loop-Double Salchow. It got -1 from Judge 2; and 0 from the remaining 4 Judges. It was also one of three elements that got neutral GOE.

Another element that got neutral GOE was the Axel that she Singled. It got -1 from Judge 2; 0 from three Judges, and +1 from Judge 5. And because it had the lowest Base Value, it remained as the lowest scoring element of the programme.

Liza finished the Free Skate 5.17 points behind 6th position, Minja PELTONEN (FIN), and 0.66 points ahead of 8th position, Anastasija KONGA (LAT). Konga was at the head of a group of 4 skaters covered by 1.72 points, stretching down to Oona OUNASVUORI (FIN) in 11th position, 4.69 points behind Liza.

Overall, Liza finished 11.23 points behind 6th position, Peltonen, and 0.05 points ahead of 8th position, Selma VÄLITALO (FIN). Liza was at the head of a group of 4 skaters covered by 0.90 points, stretching down to Ounasvuori in 10th position.

It looks like the showdown with Maria Seniuk at the Challenge Cup in a few days time is not going to happen. Mainly because Maria is no longer entered. But also because there is a question mark over whether Liza will even be there, because she and Katya are on the Entry lists for the Bellu Memorial, which is being held at the same time. The irony is that we are down to have a Gervits-Seniuk battle in the Juniors in Romania, because Anna Seniuk is entered alongside Katya.

I guess we'll find out on Friday if she is in Tilburg. And if she isn't, we'll find out on Saturday if she is in Bucharest.

As I said, Katya and Liza will be back in action today at the Bellu Memorial in Bucharest, Romania. Katya's post has already been done, so this post is for Liza.

The Senior Ladies SP is due to start today at 16:12:00 EET (14:12:00 GMT / 17:12:00 MSK). So 8 hours from now.

Liza will be the 10th skater to start. So, second skater to go in Group 3 (and second skater to go after the resurfacing).

The Group 3 Warm-Up is due to start at 17:19:00 EET (15:19:00 GMT / 18:19:00 MSK). So 8h 7m from now.

Liza is currently 0.96 points behind 5th position, Nina POVEY (GBR), and 3.13 points ahead of 7th position, Arabella SEAR-WATKINS (GBR). Liza is the bottom skater in a group of 3 skaters covered by 0.97 points, stretching up to Jade HOVINE (BEL) in 4th position.

5.49 points ahead of Hovine is Aleksandra GOLOVKINA (LTU) in 4th position, 6.46 points ahead of Liza.

Given the gaps either side of this group, it is likely to be a fight between Hovine, Povey and Liza over 4th, 5th and 6th. So, Liza has to have a good Free Skate if she wants to improve her position.

So, lets hope she does just that.

The Group 2 Warm-Up is due to start at 16:52:50 EET (14:52:50 GMT / 17:52:50 MSK). So 8h 37m from now.

Despite having two falls and quite a few other mistakes, Liza still managed to finish in 4th position in the Free Skate. And that was because her Free Skate programme had the highest total Base Value of the entire field. And that just shows the importance of having a strong programme.

I'm not sure when Liza will be back in action. But, she didn't get the Minimum TES for the SP, so she will not be going to Senior Worlds. Presumably Maria Seniuk will be the one that gets the call up.
