Skaters' list (credited to @dorispulaski ):

Skaters in bold are ones who either qualified for Europeans or World's, or who are doing well as Juniors.

Others are ones who competed on the JGP or in a Challenger this season, and for whom we have program data so far - I am sure I have missed a few or they did not file their program data in their bio timely!

I think that's enough for a Skate of the Nations thread.

Thank you for starting this thread, @Anna K.  :points:

:thank:

First bit of news. Aleksandra GOLOVKINA (LTU) has got married since we saw her at Europeans in Kaunas, and appeared on the Provisional Entry List for this week's Tayside Trophy in Dundee under her married name, Aleksandra DOLINSKĖ.

However, when the entries were updated last week, she was no longer there. 😞

Aleksandra put a video up on Instagram on Monday of her working out in the gym she has started working in, and she had her left knee strapped. So, I suspect that may be the reason for her withdrawal.

It's a pity that she is missing her home club's biggest event of the year, but it's better to be cautious. Knees are nasty things if you hurt them.

All the best Aleks!

Although Aleksandra is no longer entered, there are still quite a few skaters from the Baltic States on the entry lists at the Tayside Trophy. Well, there are from Lithuania anyway.

In the ISU part of the event:

  • Daniels KOCKERS (LTU) is entered in Senior Men

And in the Club part of the event:

  • Lėja BRUŽAITĖ (LTU) is entered in Advanced Novice Ladies
  • Silvija KUKTAITĖ (LTU) is entered in Intermediate Ladies
  • Irūnė POŠKEVIČIŪTĖ (LTU) is entered in Basic Novice Ladies
  • 3 Lithuanian girls are entered in National 2 Ladies

(I'm not actually sure what National 2 is the equivalent of on the international stage. But all three of the girls were competing at Beginner level last season. At the Volvo Open Cup in May, one of them was in the 2008-10 competition, and the other two were in the 2010-12 competition).

All the best to all of them!

Ok. I put my info and a bit more in the OP
Thank you!
From my part, I added links to official websites of ESU, LSA, and LSF (this is official information so I hope it is ok to insert links).

Do you think it would be a good idea to merge this thread with the question thread from the Edge?

I added this thread's link to the Edge thread. I will check whether any the posts should be copied over

On review, the Edge thread is about whether we should have a thread and does not have a lot of posts that would work well here. IMO

Good luck to Sofja Stepcenko for her first Senior GP event :cheer::cheer::cheer:
Sofija has to be patient. It will take time to stabilize after the growth spurt and also, to find herself as an artist (considering with whom she's training now, becoming an artist might be her priority). Her main goal for today is to stay injury-free and gather experience. Then, in a few years of time, we will see what she is ready to achieve :)

I think she already has changed from last season, and I mean that in a positive way. Her skating has matured.

The 53rd Volvo Open Cup (31.10-03.11) is happening right now in Riga, Latvia (find more information and links to live streams in home page kristalice.lv or see ISU Results).
Josefin TALJEGARD is leading Senior Women after the short program.
Kyrylo MARSAK is leading Senior Men after the short program.
There are scheduled Senior Women, Senior Men, Junior Women and Junior Men events.

Meanwhile, the best of luck for Aleksandr Selevko and Allison Reed/Saulius Ambrulevicius who compete in the Grand Prix of France this weekend!

The best achievement from Baltic skaters in the Grand Prix series thus far: REED/AMBRULEVICIUS take NHK Trophy 2024 bronze to Lithuania!
Congratulations and celebrations! :hap10:

I have a question for forum members from Estonia: do you mostly look up the Tallinn Trophy information/coverage sources in Estonian or in English?

In Latvia, for instance, the Volvo Open Cup homepage is created in English and a Latvian language version is not even available in the menu. Which tells a rather unflattering story about how much attention this page receives from general Latvian public (because general Latvian public is rather petty in this regard and typically start fussing when some information is not put down in Latvian).

How does it work in Estonia? Is there coverage that is meant specifically for general Estonian public? Does it contain any interesting information that is not available in English?
