hi, can someone explain how the replacement works?
By ranking or the organizer can choose? For Example in Ladies there are still 2 open spots. does it means that these goes to
Seoyeong Wi and Yuhana Yokoi ? Safonova already got the spot to Rostelecom?

I believe the organizing federation chooses who they want to send. The open stop at Gran Premio d'Italia will go to an Italian skater.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question - but any idea why Shoma Uno is only skating 1 Grand Prix?

but its not fair for skaters who has higher placement in ranking?! Is it really so that organizer can send request to Aleksandra Feigin instead of Seoyeong Wi ?

I could be wrong, but yes, I do believe they can choose who they want as long as they meet the qualifications and are on the list.

They have to choose from the top ten skaters ranked by season's best on the replacement list.

Sorry about the above, apparently those rules are only for original assignments, and the replacements are allowed to be chosen from top group of 10 by SB list...apparently the 19-20 and 20-21 SB lists have been combined for this season, I compiled what I see as the top active skaters... (separated top 10 with ---, if assigned 1 spot, shown as (1))

So please explain me how Starr Andrew can replace Bradie in Skate America when she is not even top 10 list?

My understanding is that a host federation can choose whomever they want from their own skaters (as long as they meet minimal requirements). The US Fed can choose whichever American they want at Skate America to replace an American.

Jumping off, and not directed at your question, every year it seems to me a Fed chooses a skater (not their own) who is not "next in line" to replace withdrawals. Therefore, the rules is honored more in the breach, and the Feds can invite the skaters they want to invite.

It does make for good conversation. :)
