From the updated ISU bios:

Zhang Kexin has programs done by Lori Nichol this season.

Imai Haruka has left Sato and Dungjen and moved back to Japan to train with Michigami Rumiko. Her programs have been done by Bestiemanova & Bobrin (SP) and Camerlengo (FS)!!! Can't wait to see them. :)

I thought Kexin Zhang's last season's programs were also done by Lori Nichol. I don't think she can fully interpret Nichol's original interpretation though.

^^Agreed. Kexin is really good but she is an ice queen when she's out there. Lori's choreography always calls for some kind of emotion or feeling (when it is executed correctly) and Kexin is completely emotionless when she skates.

Hopefully the move back to Japan will be good for Haruka. I really, really want to see her do well. With Mao, Akiko and Kanako all leaving next year, there aren't a lot of Japanese ladies left. Satoko looks promising but she still needs some time to grow and mature. Haruka is a lovely skater and I think she'd be perfect to step into that Japanese "lady" spot that will be opened once the other ladies depart. She has maturity and presence...she just needs to back it up with the technical content.

Any news on Carolina yet? Other than announcing her programs we haven't heard much of anything from her...I'm excited to see her and Zijun Li.

.

FWIW, she did a 2A-3T in the second half of her FS at Ondrej Nepala Trophy, which she won. And I think she might be trying to do her 3S-3T combo again (apparently she did one at the warmup of the SP, but didn't do it in the actual performance).

I would be extremely surprised to see her retire also given how young she still is. I would expect Asada to stick around as well or did she announce she plans to retire after OWG?

She has said on Japanese TV, that she is considering it. Something about if she feels she has achieved enough after the Olympics. We must therefore guiltily and selfishly hope that she doesn't achieve everything she'd like!

Perhaps she doesn't much like the idea of the pressure and responsibility of being Japan's top ladies skater, after Asada, Suzuki and Ando all quit.

Yes, Asada has announced on Japanese TV, her intention to retire from competition after the Olympics.

PS. Very interested to see how well Zijun Li does at Cup of China and the rest of this year. She is a bright hope for China - it's been a while since they had any serious contenders in the ladies' singles.

I just checked Zijun's bio and she is as tall as Mao now. Considering it she does not look gauky or awkward, it's a good sign.

She's mentioned it quite a lot. She even talked about retiring after her junior worlds win. She wants to become a coach. But I wonder if the JSF will really let her go since they won't have any top lady if she leaves.

Zijun has been injured recently so I don't know if this will be a good competition for her. But I hope for the best. I'd love to see her medal.

Let her go? I should hope she has the freedom to decide whether to stay or not. How could the JSF make her stay?

Some report from the practice, Zijun was better than expected (She was injured a month ago and also experiencing puberty monster). had some problem with her 3F-3T, other jumps are okay. Kexin was really good, doing 3Luz-3T, 2A-3T, like no big deal. Kanako was in a good condition too. A clean run-through
