Meeting up during Nationals?

Hi all,

Any interest in having some sort of meet up? Mrs P used to create a group on an app we downloaded to our phones, but I don’t remember what it was.

I remember that app! Mrs. P is busy with her beautiful child and her new carrerr and I havent seen her mention on FB that she is going but that doesnt mean she wont. I used to make GS ID cards so we could see each other and PaulE has a special yellow GS cap. No one wanted my cards, which is fine. We did have some nice meet ups over the years for sure...2 terrific ones at Boston. Now I dont even know if Iluvtodd is going....
Some nice people who are lurkers here do come up to me and thank me....but they are pretty shy. I am now fully recovered from rebound covid but I dont want to get it again so I am staying masked up and not eating anywhere but outside or in my room. Average high in San jose on the 20th is about 60 degrees. I think they are getting hammered with rain now but hopefully it will be fairly nice when we are there. I am eating mostly at the whole foods store. This all reminds me that i have to email Solar and see how she is doing...she has such nice parents....maybe she will come to Four Conts
I used to tell people I will be the only male there in a ball cap and mustache and hi-viz motorcycle coat but with masks???? Say high if you see me.

She might not go but perhaps she would be willing to set it up for those of us who are? Or @Minz might? If I remembered the name of the app I could most likely do it. Anyone know what an Uber to the arena from the Flamingo might cost? From the airport? With $6 a gallon gas I’m scared to think. Hopefully there will be a nice person there who can assist me in getting somewhere to buy flowers for Gracie.

Isnt there an Uber calculator on the web? Uber rates have gone up not especially due to the price of botique gas in California, but for many reasons. I always tip in cash and get good ratings from the drivers so I get chosen before others....I wonder if the whole foods store carries flowers???? I will ask Mrs P which app she uses /reccommends. I am from the last century so I cant remember it.

Thank you. Yes, Mrs. P just reminded me it was slack. I have no idea who is going to nats from GS but I see no reason that they or anyone else here cant be a member of the group....who wouldnt want to hear such things as, "I have just cornered Mirai at Whole Foods!" LOL!

If you're looking for venues to meet up, Din Tai Fung in Santa Clara has great Taiwanese food and long tables but definitely make a reservation as it's popular. We had a fun dinner back in 2018.

Closer to the venue is Whole Foods which has picnic tables outside for casual get togethers.

Would love to eat taiwan! But I got covid eating out. And gave it tp my wife. Good article from korea an the spreading mechanisms in a restaurant. They tracked EVERYONE.
