Biography and Skating Style:
Nathalie started skating in 2001, in Mannheim (MERC) and is a one time national and two time vice, champion. Besides that, she competed for Germany at the Sochi Olympics, where she placed 10th in the short and 18th overall.
At first, however, it was not even sure if she would be allowed to compete, as she missed the qualification mark by 0.4 points. Due to having a team event and no qualified lady, the national Olympic committee (DOSB), however, decided to let her compete for Germany in the team and ladies competition.
After Sochi and her good 12th placement at Worlds in Saitama, the career of the law student was fully packed of injuries, often leading to withdrawal from events, like at both GP´s at Moscow & Canada in 2014 or the Universade.
Right now, she is coached by Peter Sczypa (since summer 2011), with whom she won three international titles, twice the Bavarian Open and once the Merano Cup. Nathalie is able to do all jumps as a triple, except the Axel and does use a triple - double combination in various forms now, but previously also used a double Axel - triple toe in competitions such as Jr. Worlds in 2013.
Before her skating career, Nathalie did actually compete for the SC Frankenthal as a skier, but later decided that she would pursue a career as a figure skater.
