Turned electric blanket to 10. My only advantage of not being there. Chock and Bates up first.

Alysa was landing her content ok. Gracie had some issues with the lutz today from what we could see. Gabriella fell a few times but also landed some stuff. The camera mostly seemed to show Starr when she was working on choreography, so no idea but her run-through yesterday didn't go great.

“I love you so much I’m crying because you won” like Chris and Alexa got last year.
Well, I surely felt happy for Chris & Alexa for their sp feat last year because I like them as people. Their partnership was always fun to watch and to follow. It was about good looks, skill on power elements, and personal romance. But honestly, Chris is not a very palpably emotional person, so I intellectually knew they were connected, but they never moved me deeply as a skating partnership. I admired what they were good at, but they ran up against so many challenges that they never fully reached the point where they achieved consistent momentum or memorable 'in-the-zone' next-level performances (especially not on a deep emotional level).

Obviously, that's rare anyway in pairs skating or for any discipline.

In regard to Knierim/Frazier, I think they match exceptionally well athletically. And that's important. We shall see what other dynamics they may be able to develop to further enhance their partnership and their ability to stand out from the crowded pairs field internationally.

I'm interested to see if Knierim/Frazier get more exciting programs next season. Their current ones are fine, but nothing special. I'd like to see them get something that does for them what Un ange passe did for Moore-Towers/Marinaro.

I agree with this. Chris was mostly stoic when he skated, Alexa was the one who showed her emotions easily(sometimes too much as when she stumbled in the SP in the team event at the Olympics) if I didn't know they were married, it would be hard to tell from their on ice partnership. Anyway that is in the past and we shall see what happens in this new team of Knierim/Frazier. Since this is American pairs, I always keep my expectations in check, and I won't fall in love with any American pair, though I do have a couple of favorites.

Nathan steps out of his first quad (toe?), leans forward slightly on triple axel. Some really nice choreography details here, and he's giving face. Combo, no problem.

Nathan in a baggy white t-shirt for warmup.
Am I alone in admiring his ability to not care what he wears? I miss the dad dance breakdown. Bring a form of it back next year!

I wonder what medical speciality he plans to pursue? Hopefully it will be rheumatology, hemitology, gastroenterology, endocrinology or whatever other sort of doctor I need by then!

Ryan Dunk marks his jumps, focusing on choreography, which he does nicely. Oh, is this the same music cut as Bronsard/Bouaraguia (?) ....yeah, it is. That's kind of a shame.

I didn't mean to sound critical, I personally think skaters should wear whatever makes them comfortable in warmup. Also I assume he'll have something similar enough in competition that what he's wearing now helps.

Jonsoo Kim falls on a triple axel, goes for it again... falls again. Lands his next jump (flip, lutz?).
