Returning adult skater: Pro shop in Miami?

Hi everyone! :)

I’m hoping y’all can point me in the right direction.

I’m a male adult skater (started at 30) coming back to the ice after almost 6 years without skating. I’ve had a hard time with skates in the past. The last 2 pairs I had were Jackson Elites. The last pair was supposed to be Wide, but the pro shop ordered Medium, and the pro shop owner refused to help me because the boots had been heat molded and blades had been mounted already. My feet would go entirely numb within a few minutes and I couldn’t even do a 3-turn without extreme pain. I quit skating.

Now that I want to skate again, I am wondering if I should continue in Jacksons. I want to continue doing both freestyle and dance, so any recommendations for boots that would help with both is appreciated.

I have high arches and Greek feet. The ball of my feet is wide. I live in Miami, Florida. 5’7” 145lbs.

I will go to a fitter, but I would love your opinion beforehand give that I haven’t had good experiences with pro shops in the area.

Thanks! :)

Hi and welcome! Risport all the way after reading your issues as well as about your feet. Look at RF3 Pros, and you can get them in mens (black) and 3 different widths.

Try Skaters Oasis in Sarasota, I know it's a few hours drive, but they have the boot brand you'll most likely need and there's nothing much closer that isn't just hockey.

Good luck.
