^^ How lovely! What a treat! ♥️

This video should be shared far and wide. Pass it on to others. There should be more viewing numbers and likes! This history is so important. And the 1961 team should never be forgotten.

It's wonderful to see Frank Carroll and Tenley Albright, et al.

Sam_Boni, thanks for posting the link. I enjoyed listening to this very much. I remember reading about the plane crash in the newspaper when I was in college. It was great to hear from people who actually knew and trained with the passengers of that flight. The last 8 or 9 minutes were a blast.

Two books that cover the 1961 Belgium Crash, going into biographical detail about the lives and skating competitions of those pioneering American athletes who untimely perished that dark February day:

a) Frozen In Time, author Nikki Nichols. Clerisy Press, 2006. Available via Amazon.

b) Indelible Tracings, author P.B. Bushman, Stewart & Grey, 2010. Currently Unavailable on Amazon. Check your local library network for availability.

There were plans not long ago to produce a film about the Crash, but that effort reputedly scuttled due to objections from certain prominent American Skating mavens....

Are you referring to the film RISE? It's not about the crash itself, but about the lives of the team.

Also, this article appeared in the Boston Globe: https://www.bostonglobe.com/2021/02...-day-us-figure-skating-history-is-remembered/
