Tessa Hong, born on April 24, 2002 in Fullerton, Calif., is a figure skater who competes for the United States. She recently finished 10th at the 2017 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. She is also the 2017 Midwestern Sectionals champion.
Tessa deserves her own "Fan Fest" thread, especially after that gutsy fight at Nationals...
She made her JGP debut in the 2015-2016 season, after which she started to gain recognition as an up-and-coming talent to watch.
Sadly, she broke her ankle that year & thus missed sectionals / nationals, and subsequently was also sidelined due to Osgood-Schlatter disease.
At JGP Tallinn 2016, she started her comeback, and with her 4th place in the SP at senior Nationals, lots more fans are now watching her and aware of her potential.
Kudos to Tessa for the courageous attempt at doing challenging back-loaded programs despite being not physically 100% till recently, and hope that next season she will come back with an even bigger impact at JGP and at Nationals! You rock!
