Already posted this in the British & Irish thread, but thought I should post here too.

Thank you!!!

Wow, nearly the entire Irish team is entered! It's only the ones that are based overseas (Elizabeth and the Condons) that are missing.

Good to see pretty much all the top Junior and Senior British Singles skaters entered. Should make for good competitions.

When we have a decent sized Pairs field, I'm a bit disappointed that Zoe and Chris are not entered. But, at least Anastasia and Luke are.

Boys but it makes me feel old seeing Tamsin Sear's daughter competing in Juniors! Can't say I'm familiar with the other British Junior girl, Christie Anne Shannon. But, from a quick search there, I gather she is Scottish.

And after she rescued the Ladies competition in 2019, it is good to see Aleksandra Golovkina returning. I admit that I was worried when she withdrew from Nice last week. But, with her now training in Dundee, it would make sense to do their competition instead of going through all the red tape involved with travelling to France.

Hope there's a livestream!

I hope there'll be a rewindable live stream, so I can watch later. Particularly the Pairs!

The Dundee Club are providing streams for each day on their YouTube channel.

Here is a playlist of all the streams:

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?app=desktop&list=PLNlXqXxcwyV0V595RGga1xCFQzh1RxuSI

The Day 1 livestream is due to come on air in about 5 minutes, with the first segment starting 15 minutes later. I'll post a separate reminder when we get some action.

Since it hasn't been posted in this thread yet, here is the Entries / Results page for the Interclub section of the event:

http://www.iceresultsuk.org.uk/Dundee/2021/TaysideTrophyCI/

And here is the Time Schedule PDF for the whole event:

Hope this helps

Day 1 of the Tayside Trophy is about to start.

Because the very young skaters will be competing for most of today, I will not be doing reminder posts at the start of each and every segment. Instead, I will just be posting reminder posts whenever skating resumes after intervals. And then, when we reach the Novice level competitions, I will go back to the normal method.

Livestream for the Ladies Level 1 competitions is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:
Level 1(a) Ladies FS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYqyc2j5Qk4&t=910
Level 1(b) Ladies FS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYqyc2j5Qk4&t=4728

And here is the live scoring:

Hope this helps

Wow. I always thought the Level competitions were for the very youngest skaters. But, there is a real variety of ages in the skaters in this opening group. Most of them look to be in the 10-13 age bracket. But one of them is more like 5 or 6.

Also, the Warm-Up is only 2m 30s long!

Awwww!!!!!! One of the girls had her coach and a couple of other skaters in with her when she was getting her results. It wasn't quite the climbing over each other level that we get with the Estonian youngsters, but it was still nice to see her getting support.

Also, for a fee, you can send in good luck messages that will be displayed on screen when the skater is being introduced.

For the first girl that had a message, it was from her grandparents.

And the next girl had two messages, one of which was signed "Mum, Dad and Chewbacca"! 😲

The force is strong with this one!

(Unfortunately, she wasn't doing a Star Wars programme).

I see we have a skater representing Ireland in the upcoming Level 2(a) Ladies competition.

However, I don't think she is the first Irish skater to be competing today.

As you would expect, most of the skaters here are representing Scottish clubs. When one of these skaters was waiting for her results earlier, she was talking at a volume that we could hear clearly what she was saying. And I thought "that sounds like a definite Northern Ireland accent!"

I do wish the results pages would have a column displaying the clubs that the skaters are representing, in addition to the Nation column. Because, due to the echos, it is sometimes hard to make out the announcer.

And it is nice to be able to see at a glance who is team-mates with who.

Boys, but there were some great song choices in that segment! For example:

Shakira - "Objection"
B*Witched - "C'est La Vie"

Never would have thought of skating to either of those songs, but they made brilliant programmes!

That said, there were some very rough edits to "C'est La Vie". But, seeing how much the girl was enjoying herself skating to it made up for it.

And now that the Level 2 segments are over, it is time for the dinner break.

Very considerate of the organisers to actually include a dinner break in the schedule. I like that. Especially since it is at the time I normally have my dinner.

Back with the boys at 13:10 GMT. (So, 55 minutes from now)

Dinner over, time for the boys to get going.

This afternoon's segments are quite complicated. There are not enough boys entered, so we have combined Warm-Ups. So, rather than doing reminder posts that last up to the next interval like I was doing this morning, I will actually be posting at the start of each group for the boys.

Livestream for the Men's Beginner and Level 1 competitions is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

And here is the live scoring:

Level 1 Men's FS - http://www.iceresultsuk.org.uk/Dundee/2021/TaysideTrophyCI/SEG030.HTM

Sorry, I was a bit premature posting my reminder post for the second boys group. They put the ident up, and I pounced, not realising that it would be up for a few minutes.

But, it is good to see that this competition is sponsored by Dundee's most famous export, "The Beano". I grew up reading that comic!

The quality of the livestream is even better than in 2019. Last time Anastasia Vaipan-Law was doing some of the Announcing, but I hear we have the legendary Jenny Bill this time (Official Announcer for the British Championships).

Oooooooh!!!

One of the boys skated to the "Thunderbirds" theme wearing an International Rescue uniform!!!

:cheer:   :party2: :points:

But, better than that - his surname was Anderson. :jaw:

I wonder if he is related to Gerry and Sylvia... 🤔

And that is it for the boys until this evening. Now, back to the girls. And we start with the competition with the largest field of the whole event. (Really surprised they didn't have a resurfacing before them).

I actually have things to do this afternoon. So, I won't be watching any more. But, I'll pop over to the computer and continue to put up the reminder posts at the start of each segment. And hope that the stream will be archived.

Livestream for the Ladies Level 3 competition is now on air.

And now that the last resurfacing is over, it is time for the penultimate competition of the day.

I'm currently away having my tea. And I have to admit, I was surprised that, after having a break for dinner time, they are not having a break for tea-time.

Livestream for the Under 15 Intermediate Novice Ladies FS is now on air.
