Xiaoyu Yu & Hao Zhang

Pair skaters Xiaoyu Yu (Chinese: 于小雨; pinyin: Yú Xiǎoyǔ) and Hao Zhang (simplified Chinese: 张昊; traditional Chinese: 張昊; pinyin: Zhāng Hào) are a recently paired team who represent China internationally. Their Grand Prix debut was at the 2016 Skate Canada. They finished second!

They are the 2016-2017 Grand Prix Final silver medallists, and have qualified for the 2017-2018 Grand Prix Final.

Yu and Zhang had injuries at the start of the 2018-19 season, and began their season with an SP test skate at 2018-19 Chinese Nationals

Yu was born on Jan 2, 1996, while Zhang was born on Jul 6, 1984. Both skaters were born in Harbin, China.

Zhang married Chi Ju in May 2014. The couple has a son, born May 2015.

EDIT: As for the "farewell and introducing our new teams" performance, I was utterly shocked by the concept of the performance. :disapp: The packaging looks specious with the beautiful and touching music and corresponding choreography as if this partner switching had been done amicably. However what bothers me the most with the performance is that despite outwardly the beautiful packaging, it gives a message that the girls can be replaceable at any time by the federation. Moreover I sense that with the farewell, the federation seems to urges the viewers to follow their new will no matter how you feel about the swapping controversies. I know this is a fan fest for the new team, but I can't help to say this loud. Xiaoyu looks icy cold with Hao....unlike seemingly happy Cheng Peng with her new partner, Yang Jin.

I don't think you need to worry about it since Dan's wedding is certainly a good news to many of figure skating as we've not heard of her recent activities after her retirement in 2012. Besides, there are not much things to read during the off season.

Some news might be buried, but at least it's easier to find instead of looking for threads that might as well be already archivised. doesnt sound classical to me so cannot help you ... listened again... it's some sort of either obscure (read second rate) classical piece or most likely cross over. it could be from one of those "piano concertos" (like the warsaw concerto sort of thing but i don't know it so i cannot tell if it's that or not ) ... but yeah... don't know it

as seen in the edge the music is by Emil von Sauer (Piano Concerto #1 3rd Movement (Cavatina) )

so, I wasn't far off. von Sauer was a pupil of the great Liszt, however, if he were a true virtuose like his master, he wasn't a great composer. He is considered, like other composers from the romantic era in this category, to be of minor importance when it comes to his catalogue of works. He is more known for his edition of studies. I had seen the name in my edition of the Tchaikowsky concerto or was it the Grieg???
