Yaroslav Paniot

Yaroslav Vadymovych Paniot born 26 December 1997 is a US figure skater who formerly represented Ukraine.

He was born in Odessa and represented Ukraine at the 2018 Olympics where he came 30th.

He was also two time Ukrainian National champion (2014 and 2017), as well as the bronze medallist at 2017 Tallin Trophy and 2017 Philadelphia International.

He is also a Winter Youth Olympics Team silver medallist.

He switched to representing USA in the 2019/2020 season (becoming a member of All Ice FSC, although he trained there while representing Ukraine) and came 10th at the 2020 US Nationals.

Yaroslav just competed at the 2021 US Nationals where he earned the pewter medal (4th place)

More info to come, but his Elvis Medley FS is a revelation and must be seen to be believed!

His current coach is the 1996 World Champion Todd Eldredge, his previous coaches have included Tammy Gambill, Nikolai Morozov and Viacheslav Zagorodniuk (1994 Worlds bronze medalist)

Unfortunatly he might not be eligible to represent the U.S. next year. Ukraine invoked its 3 year rule for Olympians. Panot last competed at 2018 NHK. If it is calander years he is good if it is seasona he has one more.

The first time we got to see Yaro was @ the Philadelphia International Summer Competition (formerly known as "Liberty"). He was on the podium with Tim Dolensky & Max Aaron. Then we got to see him skate in person @ last year's Nationals. I am thrilled that he skated so well @ US Nationals & am delighted that Todd is coaching him!

I also enjoyed his SP, but it didn't stand out the way Elvis did, so I didn't actually realise it was him.

He is very impressive for sure. He would be an interesting guy to sit down and have a beer with. We watched him tonight on the Tara and Johnny show. My wife has some questions. He was basically assured of having a berth on the UK Oly Winter team? Yes no maybe? But he moved to the US and does UK have to release him to skate for the US internationally? Or after while and being a US citizen, he doesnt have to worry about a release?
