Hi. I've posted videos from this season's competitions on the new extra thread. The video from Sochi's team event is missing.
Besides, I have links to the SP and EX in Russian commentary only. At least I hope they can be played outside of Russia - would you mind checking them(vk.com links), please?

@happy _Yuzu_fan: All three men on the podium in Pyeongchang may very well be Brian Orser's students. I suspect if he'll have any favoritism, it will be for Nam for obvious reasons.

BTW saw on Tumblr (nonchan1023) that the 2014 Japan SOI's group number already had English translations of the song lyrics and Mai Asada's interview in the end. Now we know the reason for the smiles and giggles as the skaters turned outward in their circle at the end of the number was because Nobunari missed a signal. Nobunari ruefully admitted he was the only one who seemed to have made a mistake. As the senpai, he is certainly excused, if not forgiven. ;)

Nonchan credits 6277 for encoding the subs. Many thanks to both of them!

Thank you everyone who has posted links on the other thread. You guys are so organized.

^The "bribe" must have been the double use of Yuzuru's favorite peace sign!

Nobunari's persuasive powers seem to have stronger effect on Kanako as their photos are so :laugh:

@yay: VK links working for me here in Korea. Thank you so much for your hard work!

@Maria Victoria
I'm waiting for Kanako to get jealous and come up with more hilarious facial expressions!

BTW, お目めぱっちりんこ means
お目め= eyes
ぱっちりんこ= wide open

This was "the joke" at the end of the interview between Nobu and Yuzuru that didn't get translated here probably because, well... it's not a joke ;)

@Pamina: Yup. Yuzuru especially seems to have that resigned "he made me do it" vibe in the photo, looks almost bashful compared to the positively gleeful looking Nobunari (maybe because he finally got Yuzuru to agree to the pose?)

@mikaboo: Over at the thread concerning Kanako's future, they are joking that her photos with Nobunari may mean the beginning of a new career for Kanako! So funny, and she really seems to be enjoying herself. I wonder which photos had more retweets and favorites?

Ah ok, so any resemblance between the pose of Yuzuru and Nobunari with the peace sign is purely coincidental :).

Is Nam's skills (as of the moment) anywhere near Yuzu's?

Well just watching scores back them when Yuzuru was 15, I´m taking both scores from Worlds Junior Championship in the year both were champions.

Nam SP 72.87
LP 144.19

Yuzuru SP 68.75
LP 147.35

I guess other people can do a better explenation than me about their thecnics.

yeah but you also have to consider that the points for some jumps have changed ( namely 3 axel) and that thare was some inflation in the pcs score even in the junior ranks in the last few season...

That said I believe nam can come a long way if he can get more consistent... (let's not forget the nightmarish jgp series he had this year)

Sorry but my country doesn´t broadcast most skating events, so I have to look to Nam results JGP Mexico 4th and JGP Poland 16th. Can tell much about presentation I don´t consider myself an expert, I know I like Yuzuru´s programs when he was 15 more than Nam does now but as you say we don´t know what will happen in the future.

I remember back in 2011 a lot skating experts were expecting Arthur Gachinski to be Rusia´s medal for Sochi, well Sochi came and poor Arthur wasn´t in it.

Edit.

Another point, would Skate Canada put Nam in senior this season? Yuzuru made the transition at 15, but he has won all his GP asigments and the JWC, he also was amount the top 10 Japanese man in Senior Japan Championship, at looking at Nam´s results don´t know if this will be good for Nam.
