Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

Has Machida been this serious even before? In videos after Sochi and Worlds I don't see him laugh and goof around as much as Yuzu, Oda, and Daisuke..

Hehe, noticed I am turning into a Tatsuki "apologist" here. But on a more serious note, that's one thing (among so many) that I love about Team Japan. The members have their own individual personalities; they are not cookie-cutter, and Tatsuki is obviously more reserved than his teammates. Woah, yeah! :think: Now you think about it, the fact that Orser coaches 2 (possibly 3) medal contenders for 2018 is crazy! Will it be like the Virtue/Moir and Davis/White situation again where both students from the same coach aim for the gold? I guess we'll just have to wait and see how much Nam improves over the next few years; also how much more Yuzu will improve with his variations of quads and ballet lessons.

That ITA. And also Javier developing the "warrior" mentality. I winced when during 2014 Worlds, the British Eurosport commentators were discussing whether Javier could catch up with Yuzuru if the latter scores above Tatsuki and Simon Reed said something like he (Simon) doesn't think Javier has it in him. Hopefully, as Yuzuru himself predicts, everyone will get better and we'll see a fantastic men's competition in Pyeongchang.

just want to explain that the last link is of the ice show Friends on Ice in 2011, and the ladies kiss the men (obviously haha) leading to that result. I think it was the same show where Yuzuru was in a hoodie and baggy pants and did this really cringeworthy routine with a girl? I can't remember. I also want to point out that Yuzuru's lipstick mark is dangerously close to his lips... someone got a bit too enthusiatic?

also I'm looking to follow Yuzuru Hanyu blogs on tumblr and I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions to help me out? :think:

my guess is that they were expecting abit more points?? but i mean he did singled a planned triple jump and some few mistakes so...

He made two mistakes. 3T after 4S turned to 2T, but it wasn't key I think, but singling lutz and only 2T after was HUGE mistake. He lost on that 8 pts.

Jsvi could have been the winner if he hadn't made those mistakes. I think he was scored alright. His PCS is as high as Yuzuru. After PChan, it seems the judges gave all the top 3 very generous PCS. All of them are in the 90s zone now. That means the one with better TES will win. Personally I think Yuxuru was the one who have the disadvantage, because the judges didn't give him PCS pillow like what they did to PChan. I think the judges wanted to send him the message: You won the gold in Sochi but we were not pleased, you'd better prove it here.
