Yuzuru Hanyu

Different types of ramen to recover after an exertion... Who does this Kourakuen ramen chain have in mind? (Purely rhetoric question.)

After all, the word "restaurant" means "that which restores", implying restoring one's strength, it was the name of rich broths, and from the second half of Eighteenth Century, some shops started selling them to travellers, workers...
It's very close to the idea of the ramen restaurant!

Yuzuru Hanyu now has gathered a total of over 200,000 spectators at his Solo shows:

Thinking that it was his choice only to go to smaller venues, particularly Sekkisui Heim Super Arena in Rifu near his home and a temporary morgue after the Great Eastern earthquake, or Saga who had invited him for their inauguration but he was already "booked", or Hiroshima for the 80th anniversary... Even Tokyo Dome, he could have filled it twice I'm sure, thrice I'm less sure.

It is worth noting it includes only spectators in the venues, as there were many many more on the paid streams, in cinemas and the like, not counting TV viewing and DVD/BR sales (which are quite impressive too)

Sure it was his choice to perform in smaller venues (though often the largest ones in the given city/province and substantially bigger than those chosen by other ice shows) but it would usually be combined with selling out Saitama / Yokohama super arenas each year for a couple of days, not to mention the Tokyo Dome, of course. And think of his consistency which gained him the nickname "Mr Sold-Out" in the business

Tatsuki Machida is going to evoke among others, tomorrow on TV Asahi CS2 at 7pm Japan Time, the world of ice shows, and of course to mention Yuzuru Hanyu:

For those who don't know, Tatsuki Machida, while being an exceptional performer and a scholar of the History of Figure Skating (particularly on collaborations with Ballet and on copyright matters), doesn't talk much with Yuzuru Hanyu. It is speculated that this "rift" originated in the 2014 World Championships, where Yuzuru Hanyu ended ahead of him by a fraction of a point. While I see no scoring problem (none of them have ever been a "pet", both were scored rather severely), it is probable that some other judging panels, weighting differently the criteria, might have scored them slightly differently and placed Tatsuki Machida ahead. I would be so happy if they could now fight together for a better Figure Skating!

Yuzuru Hanyu has extended for another year his support to the Ishikawa Prefecture tourism, where he had performed the Challenge Ice Show after the Noto Peninsula Earthquake:

Here's an article, I think by the Ishikawa Tourism Board:

The big main fanart trend these days is still REALIVE, with three main sub-trends: the poster showing Yuzuru in short-pants and thighs, the character he skated to in Prequel, and the mysterious crystal-like character, Kaku.
This one won because there were three pictures in one:

But for the rest, it's very hard to choose because many talented fanartists have done a lot! Yet I limited myself to older ones!
