Yuzuru Hanyu

I didn't know that the Photojournalism Exhibition had had an encore until today in Yokohama!

Here's the ArtExhibition article about the initial (annual) exhibition in December, which had been a huge success:

An Ice Show has been announced for next October in Japan, called "Ice Blade". Their first visual was already quite evocative of Yuzuru Hanyu, leading some to wonder if he would be part of the cast. But with the announcement of WHITE..., and with the warning added by the organisers to their new visual (only Yuzuru Hanyu could make such a move...) that it was a mere illustration and the cast would be announced later, it's now clear that they're just using Yuzuru Hanyu's image in drawings, without any probability that he would be cast:

Yep, they got inspiration from Yuzu all right.

Rio Nakata on Yuzuru as a role model and reference for the jumping technique due to the lack of prerotation. Yes, Rio, we're with you :rock:

Finally someone confirmed what fans kept saying for years!

Some comments said the character did a hydroblade as a nod to Yuzu because he was under Date Masamune, who is from Sendai.
But yeah, I also don't think Yuzu will join that show. Most likely it will be the usual live action skaters.

A major earthquake is affecting the northern-eastern Japan and tsunami is expected with warnings issued for Hokkaido, Aomori and Iwate! Evacuation is under way.
Sendai airport is said to be operating as normal, though they say it is close to the earthquake's epicenter.
Praying for everyone in the area to be safe!!!:pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray::pray:

As a reference, here's Yuzuru Hanyu's latest public Quadruple Lutz (before the Maintenance period, we have no idea as to what's coming!), filmed rather in a Manga/Anime way, as it is the beginning song of The Medallist Season 1 (this video has 14.2 million views, and the Musical Video version, where Singer Kenshi Yonezu is also visible, has 36.4 million views), the 4Lz is on the 1:00 mark:

(Sorry my message was ready to post before I read the Earthquake announcement, I pray that the damage is minimal, that is, affects people's lives as little as possible!)

Fortunately, the earthquake itself doesn't seem to have caused major damage, and the tsunami warning has now been downgraded, after the bigger tsunami wave was observed at 0m80 if I remember correctly? In the Iwate or Aomori prefecture? 80cm is big enough to cause significant damage on coastline buildings, ships... but it happened long enough after the alert to leave hope that nobody was injured or dead:

The Tokaido Shinkansen service has resumed (not the Tohoku) but the Japan Meteorological Agency warns that more, maybe strong earthquakes may follow:

Can we call this a tiny anniversary? Nine years ago, Nishikawa launched their new commercial campaign featuring Yuzuru Hanyu:

Here's the page:

The commercial is "only" in third place but at the fifth place, there's TV Asahi's teaser for 2017 World Championships, which strangely was mostly showing 2015 World Championships with Yuzuru Hanyu as Phantom of the Opera:
