Global Stats reposted the results of their report on who the most famous Japanese people were on the global scale, this time with photo of Yuzuru next to that of the winner, Hayao Miyazaki, the founder of Ghibli Studio and its honorary chairman. Yuzu came second followed by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the 3rd, and film director Akira Kurosawa in 4th place in this report based on stats research algorithm not personal opinions. Mao Asada placed 14th and was the highest placing woman. No more skaters made it to the Top 25 list.

This fan went to the Haier Gloden Week event in Tokyo Midtown which was ending, and chatted with the staff. Yuzuru Hanyu seems to have a three-year contract, the refrigerator magnets sold like hot buns at the event but also elsewhere and they're practically sold out everywhere, the monochrome version sold faster, they had anticipated that many people would buy them even without having the corresponding refrigerator, and they have already reordered more and plan to do so as long as it sells.

Calendar!! what a lovely idea!! I really hope someone will use these photos this way !! Not that we ever have a shortage of Yuzu calendars, but we'll always find a corner to squeeze in one more anyway !
