The ISU World Team Trophy will be held with the approval and the assistance of the International Skating Union\, under the responsibility of the organizing ISU Members concerned (in this case the Japan Skating Federation – JSF) and in accordance with the current ISU Constitution and General Regulations 2024\, the ISU Special Regulations & Technical Rules Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance 2024 and all relevant ISU Communications. \n\n\nThe ISU World Team Trophy format is based on a competition consisting of the six (6) best national Teams from ISU Members with a special provision for the host ISU Member to be included as Qualified Member. Each Team will be composed of 2 Men Single Skaters\, 2 Women Single Skaters\, 1 Pair and 1 Ice Dance team (a total of 8 Skaters per Team). Each Team nominates a Captain from Team Skaters who represents the Team including during the medal giving ceremony. \nSix (6) ISU Members will qualify based on the scoring scale used for the ISU World Standing points (see applicable scale in sub-paragraph e) below) scored by its best 2 Women Single Skaters\, best 2 Men Single Skaters\, the best Pair and the best Ice Dance Couple primarily at ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events and Final season 2024/25 and the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2025\, plus possibly the ISU European Figure Skating Championships / ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2025\, the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships 2025 and ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating season 2024/25. \nThe 6 Teams\, having accumulated the highest number of points by the above-mentioned number and discipline of Skaters/Couples in the above-mentioned ISU Events and the criteria outlined below\, will qualify. If a Team would qualify by points with less than the above-mentioned number and disciplines of Skater/Couples contributing to the qualification points\, such Team would only be considered qualified\, if points are achieved in at least 3 disciplines\, otherwise the Team with the next highest amount of points fulfilling the criteria will be considered qualified. If there is a tie among Teams’ subject to qualify\, the Team having earned the higher number of points at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2024 will be qualified. If a tie persists\, the qualifying ISU Member will be decided by draw. DESCRIPTION:2023 World Figure Skating Championships\n\nThe 2023 World Figure Skating Championships will take place March 20-26\, 2023\, in Saitama\, Japan\, at the Saitama Super Arena. Worlds is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union. ISU Member nations select their entries according to their own criteria and skaters must be at least fifteen before July 1\, 2022 to compete at this event. \nBased on the results of the 2022 World Championships\, each ISU member nation can field one to three entries per discipline. Russia and Belarus were banned from participating due to the Russian military offensive in Ukraine. If an ISU member country is not listed below\, only one entry is allowed. DESCRIPTION:2022 NHK Trophy\n\n2022 NHK Trophy is the fifth event of the 2022-23 Grand Prix series and is scheduled to take place Nov. 18-20\, 2022\, in Sapporo\, Japan\, at the Makomanai Sekisuiheim Ice Arena. The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series consists of six international senior invitational events and culminates with the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December in Torino\, Italy. \n\nEntries/Results\n\nThe Skaters are selected and invited to the six Grand Prix of Figure Skating events based on the results of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2022. Skaters/Couples who have placed 1 to 6 in each of the four categories are seeded and assigned to two events. Skaters/ Couples who have placed 7-12 at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships are selected for two ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events\, and Skaters with a top 24 Seasonal Best Scores (from the 2021/22 season) as well as those placed in the top 24 of the ISU World Standings can also be invited. If available\, medalists from the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships can also be selected. \nIn order for a Skater/Couple to be eligible to compete at an ISU Grand Prix event\, a minimum total score must have been achieved in the 2021/22 or current 2022/23 season at an ISU event (Grand Prix\, Junior Grand Prix\, Championships) or a Challenger Series event. Exceptions apply to host country Skaters\, previously ranked Skaters or split ranked Couples who return with new partners. The minimum total score is 3/5 of highest score per discipline at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2022 and are as follows: Women: 141.65\, Men: 187.49\, Pairs: 132.65\, Ice Dance: 137.89

However\, due to COVID-19\, the Final has been postponed for this season and no World standing or ranking points will be awarded in the Grand Prix events. \n\n\n\nResults\n\n\n\nNote: In light of the pandemic\, the usual selection criteria do not apply for the 2020-21 Grand Prix season. The competitors will be invited according to the following principles: \n\nThe top 6 Skaters/Teams from the ISU Grand Prix List are given priority to be selected for a Grand Prix event provided they reside/train in one of the Grand Prix Member countries\, or have no travel restrictions to travel to a Grand Prix Member country in the nearby area.\nThe top 7-12 Skaters (for Ladies and Men)\, Top 7-10 Couples (for Pair Skating and Ice Dance) from the Grand Prix List are given second priority to be selected for a Grand Prix.\nThe top 24 Season’s best and World Standings Skaters/Couples for season 2019/20 (not included in the above) will have third priority for selection.\nThe remaining entries will be from Skaters/Teams in the top 75 season’s best list from 2019/20 and up to two Skaters/Teams from the Organizing Grand Prix Member (off list).\nIf there are no available Skaters/Teams left in the top 75\, the Organizing Grand Prix Member may invite any other Skater training in the Organizing Grand Prix Member’s country.
