I found Med's program boring so I focused on her footwork. My gosh, she won't be the one with the best skating skills or the fastest speed in the business, but what she does looks very difficult: a lot of one-foot, multidirectional skating, change of edge, all achieved without losing that effortless flow .

Ignore the 'narrative'. It's Averbukh. I am sure someone died, came back, then was catapulted into the Sun to reborn as a Phoenix this time around to add on to the SP. It's so much better not to pay attention to him

I want to see that hair bling better, looks amazing.

And no tights half over boots so, that's a plus.

I think this is going to be my favourite of Medvedeva's programs so far, so I'm glad she chose this as her Olympic program. But I think it's because I adore The Leftovers and the Soundtrack. I don't get what she's trying to sell here. Has it any connection to The Leftovers? The themes about beliefs and faith? Is there any interview she mentioned why this music?

Yes, there was an interview, it should be somewhere in the Russian test skate thread. The program is about faith as far as I remember. A bit more abstract than the SP ... so I approve. :sarcasm:

Hit and miss skate

Yeah it was hit and miss, and that fall was just plain weird. But I'll say this. I NEVER liked Radionova. I thought she skated like an overcooked noodle and relied too much on cuteness. She may not be the threat she was a few seasons ago, but I think she's a much more interesting skater now. Maturity is really starting to suit her.

Evgenia, her dresses this year are amazing! I actually kind of like her FS program this year. The music in the beginning is really pretty.

Thursday the camera was to close. Today, it looked to far away. It's hard to film someone as fast as Zhenia apparently.

The 3T of the second combo looks UR to me. Maybe the 3Lz too.

She was solid but at the same time she looked vulnerable that made the program look even better.

If she and Zagitova went head to head with the skate I think Zagitova can beat her

And to continue on from the SP - it is not just how Elena skates, look at that K&C. She's checked out.

I don't know. Unfortunately, this doesn't look promising but there's a lot of time so fingers crossed.

This has to be Radionova's worst choice of music for the FS. The whole program is just boring!!! Nothing special about it I'm afraid.

Zhenya has a new layout and two new programs. While the SP is obviously ready, the FS is not. She may be consistent but she's a human being. It's going to take time for the FS to settle as well, especially as it's a harder, longer program.

You can't call squat now, way too early, except that in PCS she has Alina. That much is obvious.

I think Radionova switched coaches as season too late ... for the Olympics. If she continues her career she'll be a far better skater next season. There is improvement but fixing long term issues is so difficult ...
