Pairs cover ballads truly are a virus, I swear to god đź’€ I was hoping for something a bit more lively after seeing her more colourful outfit. At least they used the original in the second half.
These two have really stepped up their game, and it seems that these are two skaters who have really finally found the right partner.

3Tw2, 2A+2A, 3LoTh, 3S (Fall for Martina), 3STh (foot? Low kneebend)
They look really promising for a brand new team. And they have some time left in juniors too, at 16/18.

Ok... Charly is from CPAB (Boucherville is on the south shore of Montreal, it's a relatively "fancy" suburb... same club as Marjorie Lajoie.
The Leduc bros train pairs there and Charly's own brother trains dance there. Seems like Martina made a good switch (she's from Ville Mont-Royal which is a very fancy town on the island of Montreal) among the Boucherville pair boys. He skated novice last year... I have to admit I didn't watch novice nationals last season.

google is my friend

Uliana did very well... solid jumps... backloaded all combos (will get bonus for the ones with + 3) a bit stiff on the last combo but can anyone blame her?? damn.. 3f-3t at the end.

Now, the lesser things : she needs a lot of PCS work. We can see the contrast with some of the other skaters who may not be able to jump like her but have flow, speed, edge quality and presence. I think this performance though should secure her a spot on JGP.
But the PCS gap is not as huge as Judge 3 wants us to believe. I still hope she gets a JGP spot.

Novice championships last year
Highlighted a few people we just saw in the next gen pairs...
Kole and Martina also skated singles.
Charly was novice champ.

I didn't look at individual scores. No matter the scores, it is obvious to me there is work to do there. Does that mean she shouldn't get a JGP spot? Absolutely not. She needs to get out and compete as much as possible. I would also recommend she switches coaches ... but I cannot have all of what I want in life :)

I agree, but 3.75 is still not right. I think she gets West Canada penalty lol

West Canada penalty? Never heard of that LOL... Wesley certainly doesn't get it LOL 3.75. is low but this is Canadian judges judging their own.... they are ferocious

I felt Howe was also a bit down judged yesterday. He reps Manitoba.

It was one judge who was specifically brutal to Shiryaeva, while marking literally everyone else in the same ballpark.

Anyway, it's ice dance now, and if she gets a spot it's as much as she could hope for anyway.

Something Slavic, probably Ukranian.
