DVD saving to my computer?

Can anybody help me figure out how I can save something on a DVD onto my computer? Is this possible?

AFAIK the average person can't "pirate" anything off a DVD save for screen caps

however if it's a burnt DVD it might be possible but I have really no clue

My brother and cousins use some kinda of software to copy DVD's to other DVD's. If you can copy to a DVD, you should be able to copy to your hard drive. Sorry, can't remember what they use.

That's fine. I was just hoping to share some of my skating performances on DVD to those of you at Golden Skate! Oh well, I'll leave my skating to your imaginations
