4t-3t, 3a, 3L
Klimkin:
3a shaky - 2t underrotated, 4t from steps, 2a
Feel really bad for Abt. I know he was gong to retire anyway, but I was hoping he would go out in style. Also, what happened to Dobrin?!
Glad to see Klimkin do better -- Kudryvstev is a superb coach, and I hope the patnership works out. Glad for Griazev as well. Seems he actually has a chance to go to Europeans/Worlds!
Thanks for the SP results, WindSpirit! Totally forgot that the Russian Nationals have already started.
Very disappointed of Abt´s fourth place... Sure hope that he will be among top free after the freeskate!!!
I notice that Konstantin Menshov is on 11th place. Does anyone else remember him? His skating was shown in the gala of 1996 Centennial On Ice from St. Petersburg.
All I know about Dobrin is that he fell on his 3a. Btw, welcome to GS, Tove.
Jaana: I don't think I know Menshov that well, much less remember him from 1996 (I didn't have a tv set then, or much time to watch it anyway). How old is he, do you know? (if he's been on the scene for as long...)
ETA: Just checked: Menshov was 4th in SP at the Russian Nats last year, and 11th in FP = 9th overall.
Windspirit, he was about 12 in 1996, that means he might be about 20 now. His performance in the gala was shown and I remember that skating fans noticed him. I got PC in that summer and read old messages from all kinds of skating forums, LOL.
Centennial On Ice was in that sense a rare competition that I got to see it here on cable, via a sport channel which does not exist any more.
