Ah phooey.

Oh well, I'm still very excited for the season! Can't wait to see new programs and hopefully he'll have a bit of rest time before starting training in between the crazy ice shows. I hope to also see some new faces now that we won't be seeing Patrick or Daisuke (which will feel a little strange :\ )

Also going to try to go to Worlds next year in Shanghai since I've been meaning to visit for the longest and may as well kill two birds with one stone!

An old video from 2012, seems like a PR video for FaoI in Fukui, I know it's trivial but can someone tell me why did Yuzu have to hold a bunny stuff while talking/introducing himself??? (is this bunny Fukui's mascot or sth)

That looks almost too pretty to eat! :) Thanks Pamina for the link, and thanks also to those who posted links to videos, photos, and skating info.

@lbc2138: Hope you get to go to Shanghai for next year's Worlds (and perhaps give us a personal report of the competition?;)). I was there in 2010 for the World Expo and found Shanghai to be quite cosmopolitan. We did encounter a bit of a language barrier, but I don't think that will be a problem for you.

With Shanghai as host of both the Cup of China and next year's Worlds, there must be pressure to do well on China's young guns who are near Yuzuru's age, Song Nan and Han Yan (someone please correct me if I got the order of their names incorrectly). In this interview after Worlds and the Olympics (http://magicaleggplant.tumblr.com/post/84274540313/han-yan-interview-from-world-figure-skating-63), Han Yan spoke of Yuzuru as his goal. Song Nan in an older interview (http://magicaleggplant.tumblr.com/post/60000606909/interview-with-nan-song-and-han-yan-from-the) spoke of having to work hard so that the gap between him and Yuzuru does not widen. Song Nan also had this quite perceptive description of Yuzuru: "[Yuzuru's] personality is still as cute as before, he’s like two different people on-ice and off-ice."

It seems Yuzuru is the benchmark for his generation (the two Chinese, Maxim Kovtun, Jason Brown, Joshua Farris), and if they like him fulfill their promise, we will be in for a real treat in this quad leading to Pyeongchang.

Thanks for the links Maria ^^. I'm very excited to watch all these skaters rivaling Yuzuru in the future, it makes you work harder when you have good rivals

I like this blog by つゆこ (Tsuyuko).

http://ginmaku1982.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-616.html#more

She is writing about "Together on Ice", local awards for Yuzuru, then other online article with some jpg data. That article shows Yuzuru riding 2WD bicycle when he was a high school student (pictures taken in February 2011). So cute
You can see Marika (a girl with Yuzuru at the parade) too.

Original article:
http://www.zakzak.co.jp/entertainment/ent-news/news/20140501/enn1405010830006-n1.htm

This was written and the the pictures are taken by Motoji Takasu, a publishing producer.
He did not know who that boy was at that time. And he noticed it was the OGM at the victory parade in Sendai the other day

Then, Tsuyuko shows Twitter posts where Vegatta is wanting Yuzu panel

Her blog is fun. Try and explore other pages with your instinct. Maybe on-line translater can help you :agree:

^Yuzuru's "rewriting" of Romeo and Juliet ... ;) Thanks Pamina and nonchan1023 for another wonderful translation.

PS. Thanks for the links to kokoro_ai (love that video too and wish there could be one made for the 2013-2014 season) and Suzy Q (at times I have to further "translate" the English translation of the blog, but I'm up to it :), and Meoima (now waiting with bated breath for the Romeo and Juliet 2 costume-inspired cake ;)).

And speaking of Yuzuru's loquaciousness, just saw saw this video: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1sfsfl_mad-yuzuru-hanyu-happy-talk_sport ("Happy Talk") uploaded by eimi. So upbeat!

^Ah, this boy is such a tonic! Thanks Pamina. :)

One last post as I really have to finish my paper:

"Yuzuru Hanyu - Eccentric Shonen Boy" uploaded by eimi:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1sm3wj_mad-yuzuru-hanyu-eccentric-shonen-boy_sport

With bonus appearances by Javier Fernandez, Maxim Kovtun, Tatsuki Machida, Kevin Reynolds, Takahiko Kozuka as rivals(?) to the hero.

Haha! We have the same study habits. Top of my list is to find inspiration here before writing and studying. And boy, it sure does work really well for me. Thanks for all those videos and translations to it everyone!

Hmm..I think I'll let a baker here try to make something like that Hani Ni Nare yukata inspired-goodie...

Few youtube's accounts have been closed for copyright infringement, especially the user "venti hananana" who has provided a lot of resources for all hanyu's fans. I advice everyone to download the video after watching for safety. There are still many accounts and videos on air but taking careful about that.
