Here is the thread where you can make your predictions for the 4 Nationals Championships.

Please Note: There are 3 significant National Championships this weekend, As this would be a very big a workload for everybody, players and scorers alike, we thought it would be better if only 2 of them would count towards the Game Score.

Since there were likely to be more faces that are recognisable to us competing in the French and Italian Championships, and since these skaters are likely to play a bigger role in Europeans, it was decided that these would be the Championships that would be scored.

As it happened, the French and Italian Federations got their entry lists out earlier anyway. With 4 Nationals, the entry lists were still not up when I went looking for them on Monday morning. But, that is hardly surprising as it can’t be easy to get 4 Federations co-ordinated.

Doris managed to find the entry lists shortly after midnight yesterday morning, but I thought it was too late to start up a Predictions thread. But last night, she also found a livestream link.

So, given that all the information is now up, we may as well give it a test run. Even if it is just 24 hours until the deadline!

Entries/Results Page:
http://www.moksz.hu/images/mukorcsolya/versenyek/2014_15/OB_4nemzet/4N-result/index.htm

The Senior competitions start on 19[SUP]th[/SUP] December 2014 at 11:37 CET (10:37 GMT) with the Men’s Short. (Very precise timings!)

So, predictions need to be in 1 hour before that, i.e. 10:37 CET (09:37 GMT)

If you need any help working out what time this is where you are, here is a Time Converter that Mrs. P very kindly posted in the Cup of China Predictions thread.

Now that I’ve attempted making predictions, I’m glad that this is not being scored. There are just far too many names that I am unfamiliar with!

With the Ladies, I knew 5 of the entrants. But that is it. So, I sorted them by PB and found that 4 of the 5 I knew were at the top of the list, while Agata Kryger was further down. But, remembering how much faith Ziggy had in her (and seeing that she was 3rd last year), I moved Agata up to my Top 5. And then I re-arranged those 5 according to my gut feeling.

For the rest, I just kept it by PB. Hey, when there are so many you don’t know, what are you supposed to do?

Obviously, Brezina was always going to be put at the top of my Men’s predictions. With the rest of the field, there were only a couple of names I recognised (Gala, Klepoch). But, if their PB’s and previous results are anything to go by, these two are hardly going to be troubling the Top 6 anyway. So, I again went purely with PB’s.

Similar situation with Dance. Testa / Csolley were always going to be put at the top. But, I didn’t know the rest of them. (Really miss Mysliveckova / Brown, as they could have given them a good fight for the gold).

So, this Championship is going to be a real test of whether this scientific method is good at predicting results. Personally, knowing what skating competitions are like, I know fine well that it might get a few things right but, overall, it won’t work!

It’s just as well that this is just for fun! ;)

THIS IS YOUR ONE HOUR WARNING.

You have just 1 hour left to get your predictions in, i.e. until 10:37 CET (09:37 GMT)

And, for our American friends, that target time is 04:37 EST.

I'm going to do these predictions totally blind! I'm putting the names into an online generator & letting it decide for me :laugh2:

COOL!!!!

This is really turning into an interesting experiment. You with your random generated list, and me with my Personal Best generated list.

I can't wait to see what way this turns out! It will be fascinating to see what we can deduce from the scores. Because, I have a feeling that the PB route is not going to work out too well.

Let the fun begin, indeed!

It has now gone 10:37 CET (09:37 GMT), and I am afraid that means the target time for getting your predictions in has now passed.

However, if you still want to enter, I will use my discretion to accept entries for each discipline right up to the start of their Short Programme.

The Men's Short will start in an hour's time at 11:37 CET (10:37 GMT)

All the best Michal!!!

I was thinking of putting Michal as my #1 too, which would have been my only non-random prediction. But the randomizer decreed he would not even be in the top 5 & I felt compelled to trust It :drama:

Mine had Michal in 3rd (and Andrzej in first). Now if it had been fourth, I'd have kept him there
