Kurt Browning is the definitive be-all-end-all when it comes to happy feet... his program in hockey skates is more brilliant than most men in figure skates.

Chan's mastery of the blade/edges/turns is better than anyone.

Daisuke is probably the best at showcasing musicality in his footwork and skating skills. His edges and speed aren't the best ever but he understands how to make basic skills look impressive and highlight nuances in the music.

Definitely Kurt Browning. His footwork was always amazing. And actually, Alexei Yagudin had amazing feet. Saw an exhibition or show program he did not long ago and he still has it!

I've always liked this Aladdin performance of Kurt Browning. It's amazing he can do so many tricks quickly and tightly when the props on the small stage prevent him from getting any momentum. And he does it without slicing any of the other 20 people on the ice with his blades.

Kurt Browning is of course the master of the blade and can make the simplest move look amazing. I would also add Patrick Chan for his beautiful flowing edges and quick changes of edge and Elvis Stojko for his speed across the ice and fearless command of the blade.

I'm not a native English speaker, but I don't think, that "happy feet" should mean only tap dancing...

Beacom's video is really awesome! Really unusual. Those who were lazy and didn't open it, missed much.

Two most memorable happy feet sequences that did not display the highest level of skating skills are Yagudin's Winter and Candeloro's D'Artagnan. both.

Well, Yagudin also still hasn't learned to glide when he is in a jump (above the ice)...
yet when he is gliding, his musical legs can be unreal!

 He even can't leave the ice like all normal skaters do. If another music started to sound, Yagudin believes, that this new music sounds for him. Nobody knows what will be doing his legs, if a choreographer didn't tell him what he should do...

No worries Rina. I'm definitely a native English speaker, if multilingual, and the "happy feet" association with tap dancing is for me only an association with a penguin movie of the same name...

There are a lot of different Englishes out there, with a lot of different cultural associations. Happy feet for me brings to mind a dreary brand of mens' socks previously somewhat infamous for being found in your dad's or uncle's Christmas stocking......of course, now they are in every exciting colour possible and are very trendy...

Really...

And I'd call Toller Cranston's footwork happy, even if his dance inspiration came from ballet. Try his sequence in the Strawberry Ice finale at 43:13

I love watching Anastasiia's Step Sequence from her RnJ FS. It's always nice when a skater can continue to interpret and appear to put the music first in a StSeq.

Time Stamped at the StSeq

The transition into the steps right after a 3z-3t and then out of it with the running stars into a spin is really well choreographed.

Patrick, naturally and Jason Brown - his steps in Skate America especially, no wonder he had gate lady in tears of joy...

Takahashi gets my vote too, hands down my favorite esp Blues for Klook and In the Garden of Souls

Recently added Plushenko to my list after seeing this posted in a GS thread... Both SS and Happy Feet demonstrated in good measure....
Plushenko & Seal. Art on Ice.... Magical close-up on footwork begins at 3:17 ... The whole performance is fantistic!

Oh, really? He has no TRs!!!!!! Don't you know he lack of artistry, he is only a jumper, and he can't interprete the music??? ;)

I recommend yout this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ooGFKnTMYY This is perfect for happy feet at 1:55. But I think the whole arena was very happy because of his performance... No one comes close to him if he wants to entertain the audience..

Plus, He's just a Good Man. Sweet as candy and couldn't be nicer to his Fans. Plushy is a real star everywhere he goes. It doesn't matter what country he's in.

P.S. You can call it Happy Feet, Skating Skills, Best Blades, Deepest Edges, or Foot Work............For active skaters, All Roads Lead to Patrick Chan's front door......Okaaaay ;)

For me, the Happy Feet award goes to Florent Amodio. No matter how the rest of the program went, you could always look forward to an exuberant step sequence performed primarily for the entertainment of the crowd (and hopefully the judges would like it too), often followed by a camera smooch. I will definitely miss 'Florent Flair'
