How's Irina in there with no competitions all year? She missed last years Worlds to. This has to be wrong.

Will GP events be seeded from this?

Hey, Callystarr. How do these rankings stack up against your ranking system? Are you still maintaining it?

I agree.... and to be placed higher than Michelle... granted both ladies only competed in one international competition this season, but MK medaled and Irina didn't come close! very very odd.

You're forgetting that Irina skated the GP last year and got lots of points. Michelle didn't.

I mentioned in another thread that rankings are compiled over a three year period (unless this has changed). This would explain the results.

Rankings compiled over a three year period? Leave it to the ISU. So what if a first year senior skater does really well? They get nothing because they haven't been around? Although, that can't happen, now will it, because a skater has to prove herself for a while before the judges will reward her;)

Well, the year's were weighted differently. Current year worth the most, third year not worth a lot. Enough to skew results though.

Mathman,

I didn't continue to maintain the ranking system, because I didn't think anywhere cared...but I did maintain them during the grand prix series...however the judging system changed so it was kind of hard to continue the system...

Hopefully next year we will have one judging system for every competition, hopefully the CoP....which i am in favor of, even though it has its minor flaws but when the CoP I was in agreement with all of the placements....

Europeans/Worlds/4CC I did have some iffy questions...about the placements...that tells me something....

Wow, Amber Corwin 7 spaces above Jenny Kirk  !

I thought the rankings were based on just the past 2 seasons, but I think it must be three - that would explain why Irina's so high, and why Sokolova's so low.

Sounds like the World's championship headlines should have read "Big UPSET!! 9th ranked skater takes bronze!!!"
