Based on the first practice day I think we can say the US pairs are stronger than the women, which makes the women the weakest of the 4 disciplines in the country. Bravo to the pairs and their coaches, and I hope USFS can work something out for the women in the next 10 years.
Not commenting on women but the pairs looked great! Nice to see adults skating!

Looking at the start order, I just realized US Pairs has our 3A -- not Alena, Anna and Alexandra -- but Audrey, Ashley, and Alexa :)

They're numbers 7, 8 and 9 in start order, with their partners of course!

Time to revise those predictions, folks :)

Though depending on what it is, they still could be sent to the Olympics!

just stopped in the prediction game now, I thought I was smart waiting until this afternoon:biggrin:

Seriously, I hope they are OK, and if a temporary issue, they can indeed petition.

But suppose it isn’t. Think of the havoc that this would wreak in the team event strategy. Would you really trust C/J or CG/LD to skate both programs? That means another one of the events could not be split.

Cat amongst the pigeons, indeed!

Yes, K/F are definitely the most reliable team. This could really make the US team event more difficult to plan for and excel at if it isn't a temporary issue.

Oh no. They looked great in practice yesterday so it is either sudden injury or COVID-19. This Nationals is so dangerous.
Literally they would have had to somehow injure themselves while not skating.
