I don´t get the anti-Canadian conspiracy talk. L/L had major level issues. G/P had mistakes on their pattern and lacked sharpness (plus their RD didn´t impress any panel so far this season). Always crying conspiracy doesn´t help anybody to develop.

i think it's fair for people to express their reactions to the event. There is a line between that and calling for a conspiracy. I don't think there was cheating, but that doesn't mean I don't see eye to eye with the judges.

Does anyone think that Fear and Gibson should be ranked 4th?
I mean apart from the British judge.

No, but like, ridiculous downplaying. That British judge gave better GOE to Kazakova/Reviya than P squared. They seriously must dislike Elton John RD, considering there wasn't big mistakes in P squared RD.

RD from the UKR couple was powerful. Sad they withdrew but understandable. I don’t even know what to add.
P/C are to me the best ice dancers I watched since I became a fan of this sport. If this is their last competitive RD, they did it with a bang.
I honestly did not enjoy much H/D’s RD and found them too close to P/C. I loved C/B’s RD though. Absolutely loved it.

I expected G/P to be closer to G/F. I didn't see a major mistake.

Look up the protocols.
Blues pattern: G/F hit all 4 keypoints for a total of 9.58 points; GP hit only 3 and got 8.9 points.
Twizzles: Both teams got 4/4, but G/ F got higher GOE from the judges (9.53 to G/P's 9.02).
Partial step sequence: G/F got 3/3 on theirs for a total 10.6 points. G/P got 2/2 and 9.5 points and an "S" notation noting separation of hold/contact
Lift: both got L4; G/P edged G/F 7.2 to 7.06
Step Sequence: L2 for G/P (9.99 pts) L1 for G/F (10.18 points; higher GOE)
PCS: 38.11 G/F; 36.98 G/P

And then there are the ridiculous pumpkin costumes, festooned for this competition with epaulettes. And what was with Paul's visible chest hair? I thought that was a no-no.

Nazarova & Nikitin's rhythm dance was the only one which was aired by CBC television (although it omitted the replay and kiss & cry). Carol Lane, one of the commentators, becomes emotional at around the 3-minute mark. (I had to upload the video on Streamable because it was rejected by Dailymotion due to the music.)
