Alan Blinn who died in the Aussie ferry disaster

I know someone who went to Med school with Alan Blinn and he says he didn't know he was a skater . My friend is an avid skating fan now but not back in the 1980s when he knew Dr Blinn. Does anyone know if Alan Blinn skated for Canada back in the 70's? They graduated from Dal Med School, Halifax NS Canada in 1984. I read in various newspaper articles that he was a skater as well as a judge. Did he judge outside Australia? My friend is curious as he went to many events and is now wondering if they were in the same arenas and didn't know!! Thanks Annette

That ferry accident is a very sad story. My heart goes out to Blin's family and to his friend who certainly misses him.
